Re: Fixture Release Date: Monday 18th June
I looked at the fixture list this morning and just thought 'wow' - every game a match. "Muriel, get me the ticket office on the phone and hand me my bankcard". I reckon tickets for games at Leeds and the likes will this season be more difficult to get hold of than they've previously been for O/T. As regards Millwall, well yes. I did get halfway through writing my memoirs about that day in 85 when we drew them in the cup. It's still on my desktop. Perhaps I'll finish it ahead of next season's trip there. I really should.Harry Genshaw wrote: First season ticket in years and fancy quite a few away days too. Unlike that part timer Bruce, I might go to Millwall - cant imagine why you dont fancy that one Sir

Here's a better omen then. In 1977 after the Queen celebrated her Silver Jubilee, we played Burnley away on the first day of the season. We won 0-1 with a goal from Roy Greaves and we went up as champions that season along with Southampton and Spurs.Relentless09 wrote:BL3 wrote:Last time we played Burnley away on the first day of the season, John McGovern was in charge and Peter Reid was in his last season with us. We drew 0-0 and both teams were relegated at the end of the season.

Leeds won't be a problem when folk realise it's £42 for a wooden seat behind a pillar.Bruce Rioja wrote:I looked at the fixture list this morning and just thought 'wow' - every game a match. Well looking through the fixtures it looks like 93pts, an unbeaten home record and promotion!!!!
Nothing like being positive in late June!

Crayons, Verbs, GtE, Owen's Eleven, Dartisan, thebish, DSB...how many more of you are there down there, I'd imagine there are a few?

22/12 Peterborough
19/1 Palace
2/2 Watford

I'm also looking at Bristol City (near her parents'), Ipswich (London is about as close as I'm ever likely to be to there), Cardiff (mate is a Cardiff fan), and Boro (another is a Boro fan). Looking forward to it now I think. Until Burnley thump us live on telly anyway!

Found this
As of the 2007–08 season, every Football League Championship team has their own Mitre football for home matches. The balls sport the home team's crest and colours.
That's pretty cool xD

They're not in the Premier League, I'm not interested.
If anyone thinks they see me at a match, it's simply a lookalike. Poor sod.

I think 1977/78 was also the last season that Bolton, Blackburn, Blackpool and Burnley were all in the second tier. Another omen?Worthy4England wrote:Seem to recall doing Cardiff 6-3 that season too!BL3 wrote:Here's a better omen then. Went to FA Cup game at Millwall last season. What a day. Left Reebok at 8am and got to the ground at 2.45pm.Coach stopped somewhere near Greenwich for a police escort that never arrived. Then driver got lost going to the ground. On the plus side we won the match.Bruce Rioja wrote:I looked at the fixture list this morning and just thought 'wow' - every game a match. I did Millwall away last season too, went down on train - one of my favourite aways of last season that. But because it's now on my "done" list, I wont be going next season to save money for the list as long as my arm of places Ive not visited - its going to be an expensive season this!Barr Hill wrote:Went to FA Cup game at Millwall last season.
