Shock and shame of dropping to within a defeat of the R zone PLUS playing for places with new recruits in the fold PLUS boost of returning first teamers Mavies Wheater and Holden EQUALS free-flowing football to go 2 nil up, a defensive fook up to make it 2-1 followed by a nervy last 15 where we cling on for the win.

PS My Dad claims my Maths teacher told him I'd never be a mathematician as long as I had a hole in my arse.

The 4-0 deomlition of Burnley at Burden (Walker 2 (1pen), Lee, Brown) is one of my all time favourite Wanderers moments.

I think Walker did a lovely pose in front of the Burnely fans after scoring and the whole match was just Rioch's Bolton at their very best.

The Claret's didn't know what day it was when they left the stadium.

I'm bringing a mate down for this on Saturday.

Don't let me down.

ps Is that game on Youtube?
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

He uased to do that soprt of thing a lot. Half the time I don't thinko he even knew which fans he was celebrating in front of. Or he was just a more subtle wind-up merchant that Super John, which isn't hard to be!

Another Burnley memory was a 1 nil win courtesy of Patterson at turf Moor, brilliant atmosphere on my only visit there.

Andrews and Joe Riley both out four to six weeks, Holden and Wheater pencilled in for a Monday night game. A chance Medo and Mark Davies may figure tomorrow, Dougie not certain yet. All from today's BN.

One year ago ... Bolton v Wigan. 1-2 defeat & the day I finally gave up the ghost on Coyle.

Blimey, it's been some year.

I've just depressed myself now.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Went to that game too. Seems much longer than a year ago. The team had been doing well at the time (beating Liverpool 3-1), I was thinking if they can't beat Wigan now they'll not beat anyone.

Burnley are 7th so not quite the same thing but losing this game at home might have a similar effect to the Wigan game if it's a damp squib and/or a loss.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Memories of that game....

Reverting to 4-4-2 having beaten Liverpool and Everton, and drawing with Arsenal playing 4-5-1 in recent weeks.

The bloke behind me screaming at the top of his lungs "Coyle!! Get Muamba on!!" for about 20 minutes in the first half when we getting dominated and couldn't touch the ball (were Wigan playing 3-6-1 that day?)

Coyle's reaction post game as to why he had changed the system and team following our recent form... "Because we beat them in August playing that team"

Pathetic
The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!

I'm torn with this one. I believe in Dougie and think he'll be good for us but I just cant see us beating this lot right now.

2-3 defeat :(

The 4-0 win in 1992 was a great performance. 10 years earlier in a season of relative crapness we beat em 3-0 at home. Jim McDonagh with a huge clearance getting the 3rd after David Hoggan had tore em a new one in the 1st half.

Like the look of that. I'd make one change, 'either keeper' to 'Lonergan' He deserves a crack.
