I think the other thing to consider is Mavies. If, as it seems, Dougie wants to shape a team around Mavies creativity where would that leave Eagles? Eagles contributes better when, as the Insane one says is direct, and for me not on the wing. Arguably Mavies is best when being direct and not on the wing. Would Eagles be happy being on the bench more? Providing Mavies can get and stay fit of course. I'm not in any hurry to get rid, but I definitely think LCY will be a better long term player for us.

I think Eagles is at his best when he plays out wide but with a remit to go inside and roam a little.

Know what you're saying re Mark Davies but he won't be back till December and who knows what he will be like.

Be best to keep both.

Totally agree. My thoughts were never on Chungy going. He seems to have toughened up quite a bit and does his share on the defence aspect. Losing him would be a real blow, not that I think we will..

I may have said this before, I've certainly thought it.

In any era there are players I like and players I'm less fond of, but there are never any players in the club that I wouldn't happily see go if they are replaced by something better.

In this instance, Eagles may have the occasional good game and even the odd great one, but he's never going to be someone that week in week out, turns in the kind of performance I would want from him.

My hope is that Freedman's well down the path of identifying better players for every position on the pitch. My further hope is that he has the wherewithal to bring some of them to the club and make us a stronger and more entertaining side to watch.

Eagles out!!!

I note your light humoured touch Mr TANGODANCER, but I do feel I should add this.

Consistency a notch or two below Mr Eagles at his most majestic, would be far more useful to us than the ineffective passenger I've watched on too many occasions this season.

Barcelona! Not on your nelly.

In fairness, I don't have the right to comment much on any of it, not having seen matches this season. Can only go off what the match commentators, media and highlights tell me. My problems really are the mixed views of the lads that do go.

50% of the time he is our best player the other 50% he is our worst player. Personally Eagles is one of my favourite players and he would be one of the last players I would want to see leave this club.

You think he's our worst player in half the games he plays and you want to keep him. That does strike me as a touch benevolent.

He does not lose us games though does he but he does win us a lot of games. I would be happy to say he has picked us up at least 12pts all on his own if not more.

I'd happily keep him, but if he tries taking another penalty I'd rip his head off !!!

Some might disagree when he's abandoned any attempt to protect the full back at times.

Doesn't work like that Dan. He has had a large hand in us conceding some goals this season. Some of those goals have contributed to dropped points. Same can be said for every player.

I think this summer will see a massive clear out, promotion or not. I can see some of the lower end Prem clubs clearing us out and feel we'll lose LCY, Eagles, Ngog and Medo (albeit at a nice tidy profit), Given that Mills has already been touted as going to Leeds, Spearing won't sign and Davies M may not be fit for August, Dawson isn't coming, Alonso has gone and Sordell wants a move, that leaves us needing to get almost a full team in. Whatever happens, I sense we could be in some trouble and needing to bed a lot of new players in very quickly.

I'm praying our scouts have already identified targets and we can get those players in quickly.

Sounds like we will be rebuilding our squad around Zat. Looks promising.

Sounds like a lot like most seasons for us.
