Absolutely. Today's team hasn't one iota of creativity in it, yet the three players that have are all on the bench. I'm already feeling sorry for anyone that's made the long journey today.

Until he changes it with 5 minutes to go we're completely reliant on someone getting onto the end of a set-piece (which, for some reason doesn't happen anymore), a thunderbolt by Medo or an OG.

Are we really reduced to this?

its a line up that our tactical genius is hoping and praying and made a few sacrifices that will be able to hold out for a draw

That wasn't the point I was making.

He probably met half the team, as he walked on the pitch. Which suggests training things doesn't count.

What were his instructions? Run around like a tw@t and we'll see if anyone manages to pick you out? He hadn't even trained with us. Same no doubt with Trotter...
He might well have looked good in the 20 mins or so for us on his debut.

He has been shit at boro which is why they let him go.

He might well turn out to be the new pele, but the odds on chances are that he is going to be shit for us.
He might be shit, yep.

Sick of stuff being rattled out on paper though. Our team's a good one on paper. Look where that's fecking got us.
the point I am making is that there are people getting over excited about him

we need to see him for a few games to make an adequate judgement

@jaff Yep, can't argue.

Not much else to get excited about though. :hang:

For those saying he hasn't met the team.

Kevin Doyle scored today after signing for QPR yesterday.

Just saying like.

Give the lad a chance. He might be alright. We don't know. Starting to slag him before hand isn't fair on him really.

It's not an attack on the lad for getting chucked in at the deep end without meeting the team, it's an attack on the prick who's chucked him in at the deep end without meeting the team.

Beckford, conversely, has started just 16 times, starting from the bench 7 times. He was even dropped during a bit of a purple patch, and after scoring against Leicester to 'keep him fresh.' This is one of my issues with Freedman; the constant rotating isn't doing us any good! It wouldn't surprise me if Mavies is dropped today.

We will lose, I'm confident of that.
Excellent post. I felt sad watching Burnley, naively playing with 2 men up top, away to one of the best sides in the division. What were they thinking of?

Reminds me of when George Graham set out Leeds to draw every game one season.

I thought he bought Moritz as a "treat" for the fans? No?

And what's the length of his contract? Seems like yet another pointless waste of what little cash we've got getting an old mate of his fit.

Like any treat, you have to earn it. Otherwise it stops being a treat.

Bloody stupid fans.

I feel neither treated nor educated, simply short-changed.

A treat for when we've completed our education. Like being allowed to bring Kerplunk or Buckaroo in on the last day of summer term.

We'll probably get a result today too, reinforcing this stubborn, chancing nonsense. F*cking depressing.

Did any of our players touch the ball as much as Lonergan on Tuesday? The number of times he got back-passed to and wellied it into nowhere land must be near a record.

He was signed on a one year deal. Moritz is Freedman's Robbie Blake.
