Re: The Great Elland Road Swindle -Leeds away 5/3/16
The constant changes in team selection and lineup is doing my nut in. Lennon might be tactically worse than Coyle. We played a 4-4-2 diamond today, but without the ball Clough didn't drop in. So in effect we had seven players defending with no protection on the flanks.
For their second goal, Pratley lost the ball fairly high up the pitch. But since, Mavies is up with him, it leaves Spearing alone in the centre covering everyone. I feel for him, he has no help in there. As soon as we lose the ball, even high up the pitch, the opposition can find it very easy to be at our back line. I really don't see how you can play Clough no10 with forward mined players in behind. It's suicidal.
Madine was truly shocking today. What a fecking soft c*nt. Yaya Trotter looked good when he came on. Woolery lively. If he doesn't start ahead of Madine and Heskey then Lennon is more of a prick than I thought. It's all irrevelant though, we're down. Fulham away on the last day. Relegation party on the banks of the Thames, who's with me?

Know what you mean Dibs but I bet Sheffield United felt that when they went down in 2011, four years after being in the top flight. They've since had four top-seven finishes but they're marooned in midtable and were probably glad of their injury-time equaliser at Fleetwood today – and down the coast from there, Blackpool are having an altogether more temporary stay in the division.officer_dibble wrote:Division 3 here we come. Pleasingly northern, though, next season's third tier. Could include Barnsley, Coventry, Bradford, Port Vale, Sheff Utd, Rochdale, Bury, Scunny, Chesterfield, Fleetwood, Doncaster; one of Blackpool and Oldham or possibly Crewe might stay up; Accrington are top of the League Two play-offs and trying to catch the automatic promotion slots; and Rotherham might come down with us.

I mean we will be one of the biggest teams...sheff u granted and cov. All will coming looking for a day out and a scalp. This current lot of players will lose every week imo! Pratley as skipper sums it up. Need to change the mentality of the senior players. By no means am i saying "we are huge and will smash it".

A few of the players are out of contract too, while others will undoubtedly be sold. Moreover, youth like Holden haven't been fully signed up yet. So we could be starting life in League One as a big club in a small pond, but with a very weak squad.officer_dibble wrote:I mean we will be one of the biggest teams...sheff u granted and cov. It wouldn't surprise me if we went down again to League Two

I'm in. New ground for me. Already agreed to meet up with a mate at this one.Dr.Karl wrote:The constant changes in team selection and lineup is doing my nut in. Doubting Thomas. It can be done:Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Quick reminder that Eddie gave Neil a three-year contract. Which is a shame, because I agree that we'd probably be better off binning Lennon before the kind of lower-league scrap he hasn't experienced since he was a kid at Crewe. As noted, it would be yet another sacking in September/October, when it's too late, and yer man (whoever it may be: Coyle, Freedman, Lennon) has wasted the budget.
Even though we can still mathematically get out of this, I acknowledge that we almost certainly won't; we're now close to the Rubicon moment of needing to make up more points than there are games left. All hope of escape has been predicated on a significant improvement in form, and here's a stat: we're 10 points off safety with 11 games left, and in the last 11 games we've only collected 8 points. In other words, if we carry on as we are, we might not reach the safety total even if the others go on holiday right now - and of course they aren't, inspired to wins today by managers as different as Karl Robinson and Neil Warnock. I've rarely been one for "Anyone Could Do Better", and even in this death spiral we haven't been as abjectly hopeless as a few BWFC teams I've seen, but I'm beginning to believe that few managers could do worse.
NL: "Results have gone against us, but we have to focus on ourselves. We likely need to win six or seven of our remaining games."

Highlights, if you can call them that. Shocking defending and poor finishing again. How did Deryck not score??!!

I like Vela as a tryer with my admittedly limited viewing this season. That said, that "shot" of his from a professional footballer was sad, sad, sad......Bijou Bob wrote:http://www.skysports.com/football/leeds ... ton/339945

Apparently anyone can play right back though, not really a specialist position. Anyone except specialist right backs that is, the fcuking charlatans.
