Throw in, corner of their box, back to south wood in two touches and we’ve lost it

I switched on and the camera was on Birmingham fans celebrating. Ffs, gonna be a long evening.

Struggling to remember it exactly, but Johnston was picking up two players at the time from what I remember. Wingbacks go forward, CB exposed having to pick up out wide.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:50 pmfeck me
Johnston and Cogley combine with some shite defending, powder puff sheehan
0–1 game over
I'd love to see us put in a Kevin Davies style welcome to the game challenge (early on). Right now we just look like we're happy to be bullied and play to their tempo.

Already hopeless tactically. It’s clear we’re weak in front of the back line, between the CB and wing-backs, so they’re pushing high and we can’t play through. Compounded by the fact that we look too nervous to play from the back, yet are set up only to be able to do that. Southwood hitting long every time. Can’t even aim for Demps and Arfield down the channels. Because they ain’t there.

Funny. I’m not over impressed with Birmingham thus far. Look pretty average to me.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:56 pmThis lot look ten times the side we are, they will beat us without breaking sweat tonight.

I don’t think they’ve got out of second gear. That’s our best chance actually, don’t concede another and try and nick something with subs late on.

Yeah we’ve actually been ok since they scored.

We had a decent set piece.
Brum should be two up after Southwood's questionable header.
Oh and Dempsey's looking sore. Want our best players on the pitch and he'd be a big miss if he ends up playing within himself.

fecking hell Cogley. He’s looking every bit a league two player this season.
Honestly this lot are all over us. Not sure if I’m watching a different game! Feels like a matter of time before it’s two

Arfield is nowhere near it. Being run ragged and ain’t got the legs.

Dempsey injured. Course he is.

This was always the risk with playing Arfield. Decent passing range on the guy but not got the pace to keep up. Given we're chasing the ball for the most part, I suspect the tactic was to have Arfield early on and then use the subs to change the game.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 8:10 pmArfield is nowhere near it. I think he’s given it away the past three times he’s had possession, too.Mar wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 8:12 pmThis was always the risk with playing Arfield. That's what i've seen him do in most games. That's why i'm surprised he's in the starting lineup. Can't blame him for playing, can blame Evatt for picking him though.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 8:14 pmI think he’s given it away the past three times he’s had possession, too.Mar wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 8:12 pmThis was always the risk with playing Arfield. Super John noting how good Brum are at mixing up the play, going short and long with variety. Hmmmm, situational awareness and no strict adherence to one way of playing. Who would've thought that would be a positive for a side.
Seems like we're trying to mix it up today, not through deliberate actions but more due to panic hoof balls to clear our lines.

I’m not sure Southwood is any better than Coleman.

26.3% possession, so I'm shocked to see we're not winning

Credit where it's due, decent set piece from Sheehan early on and that is a decent clearance from Johnston there.
FFS. 5 Bolton midfielders in a tight knit area against two Birmingham players (in their half) and they come away with the ball. Get stuck in dammit!
