Re: Fabrice Muamba
It would be nice if a Charity match could be staged as a testimonial of sorts. Against Spurs and for a heart charity would be appropriate. It might give Fab an opportunity to kick a ball about for 10 minutes at the Reebok and for all to say thanks. I know he was there for the Spurs match last time, but a sort of family kick about day would be nice.
All the best Fab.

Terrible news, really hoped he would be back playing for us once more but totally understand why not and the bigger relief is that he's here at all. Hope he goes on to do something he loves, any idea if he's going to be working at Bolton in some capacity?

Re: Fabrice Muamba
He's been told he has a "job for life" at Bolton.. Not sure what that would be.. Working with the kids perhaps.. Not sure he'd want to. He'll probably move back down south and enjoy the life that his short career has afforded him.

Might be able to use his studies in business/accounting in some way?
He could do something like working to ensure regular heart scans in lower league football, or getting defibs at school/junior football etc.
Or just be a dad.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Sadly inevitable.
We should remember the very early days when we were simply happy he was still with us and we all said "just recover Fab. Football can take a back seat". Well, that should be how we see it today.
A pleasant, friendly young man. Wealthy enough, bright, qualified. With a loving family and a supportive employer and fans from the whole footballing World.
Thanks for being around, for playing for Bolton and for showing us what matters, really, in life.
Don't forget us, as we surely won't forget you.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Gutted for him. Unfortunately this was the inevitable outcome, sad as it is. He's still with us though, which is the main thing. Actually, it's the only thing that matters. Good luck Fab!

Feel more guttted about thids than it feels right to, given all I wanted was for him to be alive when it happened.
Proper shitter and robbed us of a footballer.

Am I the only thinking that at least it's consolation that we can now free up his wages and sign a replacement?

I'm gutted for him, honestly.. I'm gutted for BWFC too.. But he's a high earner and potentially his wages could've been a stumbling block when replacing him.. He needed replacing regardless of today's news..
I don't know.. I know it sounds harsh, but I know what I'm getting at..

Would we have insurance cover? I don't know, just asking.

Crossed my mind too, but it feels so wrong to consider it.Verbal wrote:Would we have insurance cover? I don't know, just asking.
However, putting into perspective a lot of players have their careers ended prematurely for all sorts of reasons, and Muamba is luckier than most!

I am glad he's ok but the show must go on
In any other walk of life (the average joe ) you would't get half the help/support he's got

Didn't you take a week off work to thank each well-wisher individually when he collapsed?plymouth wanderer wrote:mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Bloody hell - and people say I'm ruthless!boltonboris wrote:Am I the only thinking that at least it's consolation that we can now free up his wages and sign a replacement?
