Agreed – probably needn't have told them on Friday.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/etc/
Decks being cleared. I'm not sure the headline is entirely helpful. Surely everyone realised this was happening?
Perhaps the communication is poor, but there isn't a good way to tell people they're out of a job.
This looks to me like this is those who do the front of the paper weighing in on a sports-pages story with an "If it bleeds, it leads" attitude.
Dave Dean's the masseur who worked in a bank for 17 years - ISTR him being discussed during the Coyle/Freedman years, not that there's anything wrong with a career change. Someone somewhere (can't remember who, sorry) confused Mark Leather, who's been laid off, with Mark Taylor, who was Allardyce's sports-science wonk here and at Newcastle and Sunderland: Taylor returned to the club "in an advisory capacity" a month ago. Maybe he's going to replace Leather, Jimmy (or Nicky Spooner) replaces Iain Brunskill, the new manager might want his own GK coach to replace Mimms and fitness coach to replace Short, and everyone should calm their tits. Especially Darren Pratley, down the bottom comparing it to a death in the family.

Leather was a physio. Not sure that Taylor is medically trained himself, didn't he head up the performance team?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Agreed – probably shouldn't have told them on Friday.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/etc/

Either way, echo sentiments above, I feel for the staff, I really do, and it isn't their fault really that this is happening. But these things go on every day outside of football and it isn't nice. I fully believe that the way they've been communicated with was poor and that probably the club isn't dealing very well with it. But ultimately however they did it, the end result is sadly the same.
We need to shed outgoings and sadly it is very hard to do that with modern footballers so the staff end up taking the hit.
In fairness the medical and fitness departments can hardly say they've got a great record here in recent times either!

I see that Pratley's had his two penneth again. Does he honestly consider himself not to be a leading contributor to the demise of the club?

Richard Sneekes has left Rushall Olympic. More of a 'where are they now' but couldn't be bothered to start to start a new thread. and we CAN appoint him, really

That Anderson chap - everytime I hear him speak I'm convinced that he's about to try flogging me a six year old 3 Series with 90,000 on the clock.

They can and are reducing cash out flow and commitments.Gary the Enfield wrote:Hoboh wrote:Sports Shield are living up to exactly what I expected so far, a bunch of Del boys sold a pup by the previous owner and trying to knock some quick cheap fix to the club to get it off their hands ASAP.
That's where your argument is flawed.
On the football side I really doubt they will be able to invest much and keep all partners/investors on board above a couple of years, which is a minimum, to be honest, I'd say at least five years.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
Apparently Blackburn are after Stubbs. Just like autumn 1995 all over again.

Nice use too of the "at this stage of my career" all-purpose cliché.
Seriously though, this might move things along a touch: surely we'd be asking him if he's interested. Yes, perhaps he turned us down last month, but as the voracious internet-devourers seem not to realise, The Situation Can Change.
And it's more likely than the rumour I just read, that Mourinho will be turfing Giggs out of Old Trafford and the curly philanderer will be the "coup"...
according to the BBC..
Northampton Town fans can stop panicking as manager Chris Wilder's move to Charlton Athletic is off following talks with the Addicks.

Bolton News but with a rather hysterical headline: further down it said Reid was one of six options discussed.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I read Northampton was lining up Reid as Wilder's replacementthebish wrote:according to the BBC..Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Surprising perhaps that Wilder, said to be after a move to Yorkshire, is happy to talk to Charlton. Agreed. The ultra cheap option. And one who's best time was a decade and more ago. Not for me.
