This 'tinkerman' bollocks
If he's doing it in February, make something of it
He hasn't got history of it at Palace, but then he knew his players
He's got a few weeks to see what he's got and show the players they have a chance to play a part
However, Mark Davies - wide left???
Shouldn't somebody be having a word?

February?! Fecking February? I thought he was brought in to 'get us back on track' this season? Or are you one of these who think that if we don't go up this season we'll just go up next season instead?CAPSLOCK wrote:This 'tinkerman' bollocks

We'll see then eh! dosn't seem like a quick learner does he? after all we are supposed to be going for promotion this year not next, well according to lord knoblot our chairman that is.CAPSLOCK wrote:This 'tinkerman' bollocks

Feb is too late, usual for a manager is 10-12 games to show what they are about Freedman is half way there and if we run your theory then he is still feckin' clueless, just saying like.
Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
All football fans are moaning idiots.
They're the same at every club.
You really do give our lot too much credit.

No I don't
I think his job is to get us promoted
He needs to find out whether Coyle bought shit or just failed to get the best out of them

You've definitely dug him a big hole, but he's still got time to get out of it

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
He's dug the hole himself. In fact if he carries on digging it for much longer, he'll finally break through into League 1.

When Coyle left we were 3 points away from the bottom 3.BL3 wrote:He's dug the hole himself. In fact if he carries on digging it for much longer, he'll finally break through into League 1.
Now we are 10 clear.
I'd say that suggests we are less likely to go down with Dougie than with Coyle.
In fact I'd say given his higher PPG return statististically we're more likely to finish higher in the table with Dougie than with Coyle. Thats pretty indisputable.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Except for the small fact that under Dougie we're lower down the table now than when he took over.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
He wasn't brought in to keep us up, he was brought in to win promotion.
feck 'PPG'. When he arrived we were in 18th place and 7 points off the play-offs. We're now in 18th place and 8 points off the play-offs.
Thats pretty indisputable.

Would you prefer to be 10th one point above the bottom 3 or 17th, thirty points clear?CrazyHorse wrote:Except for the small fact that under Dougie we're lower down the table now than when he took over.
We're less likely to drop into the bottom 3 than we were when he arrived
Glad that ones sorted!
Now, we can look upwards
Are we nearer or further from 6th and 2nd.....I'm thinking further at this stage?
Do I think, on what I've seen so far that it'll still be the case in February...no

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
But unless you're suggesting that Coyle in some way negatively affected promotion rivals performances and results, given our own results have, factually, improved, I'm not sure that point is relevant to Dougie.BL3 wrote:He wasn't brought in to keep us up, he was brought in to win promotion.

In fact, given we were 7 points adrift after only 12 games, what Dougie has actually done is reduce the rate those teams are pulling away from us.
At the end of the day you can't get away from the guy who built this side over and told us they were "the squad he always had wanted to work with" left us in 18th place of the championship.
Yes we need to improve, yes we need to go up. But there are absolutely no guarantees no matter who we appointed. The facts are we let one guy have 3 years to build a squad that effectively took us down 20 or so places on the football ladder, and this current guy is bound to get more than 3 quarters of a season to have a go and see if he can put it right.
So bitching and moaning about things after 7 games or even 20 is just pointless, especially when you were in the "don't sack Owen" camp, who statistically whichever way you slice it was doing worse.

I do so hate it BWFCi when somebody says something is indisputable when actually it is eminently disputable.BWFC_Insane wrote:In fact I'd say given his higher PPG return statististically we're more likely to finish higher in the table with Dougie than with Coyle. Thats pretty indisputable.

So you are disputing that you are more likely to finish higher if you take more PPG......which is what I said.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I do so hate it BWFCi when somebody says something is indisputable when actually it is eminently disputable.BWFC_Insane wrote:In fact I'd say given his higher PPG return statististically we're more likely to finish higher in the table with Dougie than with Coyle. Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Actually given the choice, I'd rather we were pushing for the top five instead of pissing about letting someone who still has wet ink on his coaching badges find his feet by experimenting with weird and wonderful tactics and formations.CAPSLOCK wrote:Would you prefer to be 10th one point above the bottom 3 or 17th, thirty points clear?
But failing that then yeah, 17th with thirty points clear is the preferable option.
