Rumour I was told over the weekend (and it was just a rumour) is that the fee is £1.4M and he's been offered wages of £10k-£12k a week. I stress that this was only a rumour, the person who I was talking to had seen something at the MK end.

Apparently MK Dons have loads of money as they sold a couple of players for very large fee's last season.

Don't like it at all. Everyone has their price but Collins is a very top end L1 player IMO, and doesn't sound we're getting anywhere near what we should be.

Collins hoping to play for Wales but moving to div 4 shows a lack of ambition on his part.
Also SS is setting his stall well and truly out, promotion has got to come this season,
Perhaps Collins leaving is paving the way for a return of the Dan ( god i hope not )
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

The spending rules in league two I think would essentially rule out that sort of thing from being remotely true. Especially at MK where they hardly get the big gate receipts.

Weird one this potential Collins departure. Even though he’s our top goalscorer and ‘marquee’ player, I can’t say I’m particularly fussed about him leaving*, which is probably a sad indictment of where we currently our as a club.

*As long as we get back at least what we paid for him (which I’m sure we will).

I am enjoying how Harkin and Schumacher clearly aren’t afraid to completely change the makeup of the squad. Who knows whether it’ll actually be an improvement on the previous two seasons, but I don’t think we’ve got much to lose by trying.

...after being bought last August by a Kuwaiti consortium, who waited till just after the window closed then replaced their manager with the guy whose Crawley side boffed them 8-1 in the playoffs. They let him sign five players for undisclosed fees in January then sacked him five weeks later. Then they hired Paul "Ticket To Division Two" Warne. He's signed Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and some bloke called Gethin Jones.

I very much hope the numbers you quote are correct - it means lots of money for Collins to console himself with a backwards move, and a lot of money for us to spend. It might also suggest why Huddersfield and Cardiff were said to be interested but nothing materialised. Maybejustmaybe we let it be known that they were interested.

624,000 reasons to go then. Some dont like it hot. If he can get that in League 2 then he'd be daft to not go.

They could just be following in the fine tradition of Leicester and Bournemouth - massively outspending EFL rules and accepting the subsequent fine as just part of the promotion costs.

And/or maybe they'll get a curious but hugely lucrative sponsorship with a non-existent taxi firm, as Sheffield Wednesday did.

Brommers, you lovely man, where's my well-informed summer reading of players we might sign? :D

Or paying the way for Schumacher to be reunited with Niall Ennis. A very easy 2+2 there but sometimes the obvious things turn out to be right.

I’m ambivalent about Collins. His 19 goals isn’t easy to replace, however watching his half hearted jumps in a 50/50 challenge and his non existent tackling/defending from the front was starting to irritate as the season went downhill.

Something had to change and SS is doing that. He’s also buying a house in Bolton, so he’s showing commitment.

Have no idea about a potential sale but not surprised given last week's business. I would expect us to make a slight profit overall.

Could be another incoming soon.

Latest link is Kelly Nmai (or N'Mai). Dutchman, just turned 21, currently under contract to Salford, for whom he scored 9 and made 4 in 32 League Two games last season. Can operate at 11, 9, 10 and 7 but has played mostly LW & CF.

Turns out (first name) Kelly is another player I saw at Bromley last season, where he scored one of his nine goals. I can't remember the game, let alone the player!

You know, I'm beginning to suspect you may not be the chief scout of our dreams

I should say - linked by BWFC fan sites rather than journalists as such, but let's see
