In an early bid for the 2015 'stating the bleedin obvious award'
I reckon any casualties are likely in midfield being as everyone signed seems to be a midfielder or 13 years of age. Le Fonfdre probably gets a start largely on the basis that he isn't broken and doesn't qualify for subsidised buses and winter fuel allowance.. Other than that we seem to have replaced Spearing with Bannen a like for like upgrade and freshened up the midfield pool with some apparently less 'workmanlike' possibly cheaper potentials.. Remains to be seen if we have replaced Chungy and too early to say who is in or out but at least there is scope to rotate a bit and secure a mid table finish before pushing on again next term after another full window..

Wonder how he'll go over there. Not sure he'll be given an opportunity, which is a shame. Hope he gets a chance to continue growing as a player. Really want this kid to succeed. Watch his overall skill rise on FIFA lol.

As highlighted in a previous post, we're in exactly the same position as Freedman's first season with us.

On 31/01/13, we'd played 28 games and had 34 points. In 6th place were Middlesborough on 47....we currently have played 28 games have 34 points. In 6th place are Watford on 47 points

That season, we were in the play-off places with one game to play. With this "besttranferthreadever" transfer thread and a genius manager in charge, you'd expect us to pi$$ it no?

As noted it will do Kellett's development the world of good but let's not gild the lily: United bought two left-backs in the summer for a combined £46m, so I doubt they'll turn to someone who couldn't displace Tim Ream playing out of position.

Thankfully he's had a decent spell of first-team football at Plymouth, because he's 21 and should be making the grade soon. Hopefully he'll come back in summer ready for regular action for our first team.

Anyway, as far as I can see, here's our January business. Lennon describes Rochinha as a "Number 10 who's 19 but looks about 12". Another diddyman Bannan might 'replace' Chungy, but could also offer left-flank width. Janko has played "anywhere up the right flank" – including full-back – for the rags and FC Zurich. Six-footer Slavchev is a former Spurs and Villa target, former Bulgaria Young Player of the Year and already a full international, who scored 14 in 34 last season and was bought last summer by Sporting for €2.5m (three-year deal with option for two more) but hasn't broken through. And finally, our only permanent clinch is mop-headed 6ft 1in Twardzik. Signed (with his twin Patrik, a striker) by Lennon at age 15, he started as a defender but is now a midfielder; he's had trouble with soft-tissue injuries (out for 18 months to Feb 2014 with a variety of muscular tweaks) but is noted for his vision and passing ability.

Well Bob for all the stick you were getting that looks like an active window to me - were Eidur & Heskey in this window as well ?

Fair to say NL has assessed his squad and started to shake it up. I'm guessing that all the incomings are in the frame for 1st team duty (except goalie), as not much point bringing them in on loan otherwise. Fair play to NL, with what he has done with some our existing youngsters and with the addition of the above, we are certainly shaping up to be a young, attack minded team.

Vela has to be safe. Along with Pratley, he's been our most consistent outfield player by a long shot these last few weeks. If he's taken out of the team for reasons other than 'knackered' I'd be fecking apoplectic.

Only issue is, he's out of contract soon.
