Sports shield have a short period of exclusivity and have to get deal done by close of play tomorrow according to Iles.
Presumably that is a notional 'done' rather than everything signed and sealed as football league clearance would take longer.
Fingers crossed.

I see they have "hairy panic" in Australia http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-35600546" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. May or may not be the same thing as fanny panic or bush panic.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I'm off now to search the real tinterweb, searching for real breaking news. I'll be back if I can find some. (Strange that the bush is keeping his head down: No breaking news is good breaking news! Hmmmm think not).
NB it's my phone that turns him into a bush, not me.

Ah well, I would have preferred Team Tamraz (due to Big Tam's billions), but I have absolutely no issue with Sports Shield if this is true, they were probably my 2nd choice and I have no issue with Dean Holdsworth. They also must have the necessary financial backing to be in this position, and met some if not all of ED's desired criteria.SmokinFrazier wrote:According to the BN, Sport Shield have had their offer accepted and it'll be completed in a few days. I'm glad it's going through but I was optimistic about the Tamraz deal.
Also, I'm not sure exactly why but I quite like the idea of a character like Holdsworth as chairman, I think that he'll likely engage with the supporters better than the previous regime and be more open, but like anyone they will be judged by results on the pitch.

Meh, "Sky sources understand" is their code for, "we haven't got a clue if this it's true or not". Iles doesn't seem to have been particularly in the loop throughout.
I'll hold off printing the big flags for behind the goal with Deano scoring against Liverpool (undoubtedly the thing he did in a white shirt that sticks in the memory the most, undoubtedly).

Not sure it is certain DH would be chairman. And no deal is done yet.
However, given the number of months he's hung around trying to make this happen and the fact that he gives the impression that he cares about the club a lot, Holdsworth could be a good option to build some bridges with fans.
We shall see. I still think there could be a twist or two yet.

I doubt Holdsworth will be chairman. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Can't help seeing mental scenes from Oliver Twist every time I see Deano in that Bill Sykes muggers outfit. Somewhere in the background a voice is singing.."Got to pick a pocket ot two...ooo, got to pick a ocket or two..."

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Oh yes it is! I can solemnly swear that whenever anyone says "Dean Holdsworth" the first, nay only, memory that comes to mind is Sander Westerveld diving over a Deano rocket. I swear it.bobo the clown wrote:No. It's not. Nope. That miss at Wembley. The miss that even goal machine would have struggled to miss. That's the thing we all remember.Prufrock wrote:Oh yes it is! Madine has missed far easier chances than that this season on a fairly regular basis.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Nope. That miss at Wembley. The miss that even goal machine would have struggled to miss.
