Michael Duff confirmed as the new Swansea manager this evening. Barnsley fans appear to be taking the news with good grace, judging by their forum 😂

Might I direct you to the League One round up thread, my good sir?

Though, yes, they are in full meltdown. He's a "traitor" and "Evatt was right!"

None the wiser. Not even sure what I'm looking at. Which one is meant to be a new signing?

Looks like Kachunga. Or Dion Charles, you never can tell.

It's a new singing. A fresh choral approach.

Exciteable folk are saying the bloke at the back (with the requisite footballer manbag) is Bacchus, but I couldn't tell you – I wouldn't know him if he were sat on my knee. My internal facial recognition software is very buggy these days - I wasn't even sure if the bloke in the bucket hat on the new kit photoshoot was Iredale!

A quick Google search for Keanu Baccus throws up a bloke that looks very similar to that guy in the middle...

Scottish papers reporting we are 'hoping for permission to speak with Baccus over the weekend if we can agree a fee'.

So there is that.

One assumes we will announce the Wilson signing today. Seems to be dragging that one.

Maybe Baccus this time next week?

Perhaps slightly worryingly so. I mean, I hope rather than waving him through we'll be giving him a rigorous medical, but I hope it's not punctuated by the sucking of teeth and the shaking of heads.

I don't think we need to worry, do we?

We seem to be spreading news out as part of a media strategy.

If he's failed a medical I'll almost be pleased. It'd at least say we don't wave people through.

Nlundulu returns on a permanent deal, which will no doubt be a divisive move. He seemed to have something about him, but looked remarkably raw for a 24 year old. I hoped we might be able to do a bit better.

Disappointing one for me. Make me eat my words Dan but I don’t see him as the striker we are missing to fire us to promotion. Makes the Keiron Lee replacement more important.

N'lundulu back, looks like a moneyball signing. Incredibly raw and looked promising, can imagine that's the reason we've signed him.

Hopefully he won't try as hard and it'll come a bit more naturally. Sort of tried to beat too many people as opposed to beating people and doing the passing in mixed measure.

Potentially a really good signing.

I'm not overjoyed with Big Dan but I do think there's a player there. Let's see, and wish him all the best.

Meanwhile in the Daily Record...
St Mirren have agreed a £275,000 move with Bolton for Keanu Baccus - but the deal has the potential to more than double with future add-ons.

The Australian international has been given permission to travel south, where he has done his medical and agreed personal terms. The two clubs have struck a deal and it is now subject to a work permit and visa being issued.

The move will see St Mirren make a six figure profit on a player they signed from Western Sydney Wanderers for nothing last summer. The Paisley club will also benefit further on the deal subject to Bolton appearances, further international caps, potential promotions and a chunky future sell-on.

Baccus is currently in the final year of his contract and has never hidden his desire to try his luck in England. Talks with Bolton have been on-going for several days and have seen the League One side significantly up their bid.

Excited about Baccus, not so excited about Big Dan, especially on 3 year deal. He really seems to rate Evatt though judging by his comments on signing, so maybe that’ll help get the best out of him.

I'm really pleased we've signed N'lundulu - as others have said I think there's a player in there and hopefully he'l massively benefit from a full pre-season with us.

Evatt & the team haven't got many wrong, and they must see something in there to commit to a 3 yr deal. Just hope people get behind him rather than go after him from the outset, as a not-so-small minority of our fans have a tendency to do......

Baccus looks like a decent addition to.

Must admit, I love the fact we try to go early for summer signings - nice to know how the squad is lining up at this stage and to be able to see a few of them in pre-season.

Quite excited about the squad now. We seem to have a little but of an embarrassment of riches in certain positions.

Even if that's all our business wrapped up, we should be able to field a hell of a team.....

Baxter
Jones Santos Johnstone
Dacres-Cogley Williams
Morley
Dempsey
Baccus
Charles Bod

Not saying that will definitely be a starting 11, but if it were, it leaves Big Dan / Adebayejo / Jerome / Sheehan / MJ / Thomasson / John / Toal / Iredale on the bench!!!

Bring it on

Not often we get announcements on a Sat. I suspect that Evatt feels he can do a Dapo with Dan. On paper it looks like the deal has promise but my reservation would be his rawness at 24yrs of age. I can see him getting a lot of game time in the B's initially.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

I only said to a neighbour this morning that Dan will be a cracking player in 2 or 3 years but we probably couldn't wait that long. Hope he can contribute something next season and develop into the dogs b's the year after 🙏
