Yeah, the new lads really seem to be throwing themselves head first into an overhaul.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 8:04 am…which ends with another warning that previous regulars will disappear from the XI, either sidelined or banished.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 7:48 amFrom Marc Iles comment piece on Collins’ transfer…..errr…..ouch!

I wonder whether Harkin might be able to leverage his international contacts to find foreign takers for some of our misfits? There’s definitely a few who it’s hard to see being snapped up by domestic clubs.

Yeah. It’s one thing me or the broader fanbase saying it. But seeing it written by the local club journalist is another. I mean sure he probably has thought it a while but I don’t think he’s writing stuff like that without picking that as the broader sentiment from those running the club.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 8:04 am…which ends with another warning that previous regulars will disappear from the XI, either sidelined or banished.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 7:48 amFrom Marc Iles comment piece on Collins’ transfer…..errr…..ouch!

Personally think Sheehan might make that 3 left.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 9:59 amYeah. It’s one thing me or the broader fanbase saying it. It is, although I think Taylor is an excellent signing for us also.

Great news for Hutchinson hopefully there is a route now for him to challenge for a first team space.

I hope so but not yet.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:43 pmGreat news for Hutchinson hopefully there is a route now for him to challenge for a first team space.
Barring that one-game emergency loan to Crawley, he's not been above the sixth tier yet - and as I say, a few lads we've sent out to tier 6 have been released this summer. However, goalkeepers tend to take longer and don't count against EFL squad rules, so he's got time - and a two-year contract means he's got room to grow.
In 23/24 he went to tier-7 Marine and helped them get promoted. We sent him back there in 24/25 but recalled him in October. Clearly we think he's worth further investigation (and the delay in signing might suggest he had other options?) and while plenty of people are understandably hoping he gets a League Two loan this time, I'd be happy with him getting a full fifth-tier season - we've had a few dealings with Halifax recently, while Rochdale and Alty are other options - and then maybe jumping into the EFL in 2026/27.

Interesting move from the club. Hard to see him getting any game time here unless Southwood is sold, so I guess the plan is for him to be loaned out again.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:43 pmGreat news for Hutchinson hopefully there is a route now for him to challenge for a first team space.

Yeah I forgot to say - if he excels on loan next season, it makes it easier to rtelease Southwood next summer. But whether we'd then trust Hutch to deputise depends on his season as well as ours (if we get promoted he'd be one muscle strain from facing recently relegated Premier League teams).The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:51 pmInteresting move from the club. Maybe. I personally think in league one if you’ve got a good promising young keeper there is little point in having a second senior keeper on the books.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:50 pmI hope so but not yet.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:43 pmGreat news for Hutchinson hopefully there is a route now for him to challenge for a first team space.

Obviously it depends how that young keeper is but wasting money for someone to bench warm most of the time and keep a younger keeper back from development is not a great idea imho.
I’d hope Hutchinson has a shot in pre season to show he could be suitable backup.

Iles asked Schuey about Collins:
Iles asked Schuey about N'Mai:I can't say too much on that right now, because obviously it's stuff that's still ongoing. Aaron Collins is obviously somebody that did well for us last year, someone we think is a good player. That's kind of all I can say currently on that, because it's not fair to speak about things that are not confirmed.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... r-rumours/It’s stuff that's ongoing. You don't want to speculate or add any fuel to the fire, but like a number of players out there, Fergal (Harkin) and Jimmy (Dickinson) and the recruitment team, the scouts, they're all working really hard to bring players and targets to us, and like everybody, we're in the market for good players that improve us.

He adds (Iles not SS) that indications are from the club that they want to move players on before making further signings.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 4:49 pmIles asked Schuey about Collins:Iles asked Schuey about N'Mai:I can't say too much on that right now, because obviously it's stuff that's still ongoing. N’Mai clearly a target but maybe be a few weeks yet.

The BN piece has Karl Robinson valuing him at £1+ million! If true, then it's an N'no from me.

Loose talk from a radio guest. The fan guy seems to think half that will suffice.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 6:04 pmThe BN piece has Karl Robinson valuing him at £1+ million! Think the quote is ‘he will be a million pound player one day’ or words to that effect.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 6:30 pmLoose talk from a radio guest. Dan told to find pastures new and CMG could follow him;

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Schumacher said he wanted robust and reliable players who could play a full season without constantly getting injured. I certainly think Dan falls outside that type (and isn't very good).sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 6:35 amDan told to find pastures new and CMG could follow him;

CMG is trickier because he has been a good player and showed it against Birmingham last season. We just don't know how much that serious injury has taken its toll on his fitness. At least he is being given pre-season to prove himself.
The other player that falls into that category is Dempsey. Good player for this level, but constantly on the side lines, even if it seems to be a different injury every time.

From rumours, I have heard, McAtee has also been told to find himself another club. It looks like he doesn't fit into Schumacher's plans for this season. Getting rid of him will be a challenge.
