Well, this must be positive news:

https://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/news ... lton-fans/

Panic fanny meter reading decreasing slightly to a still highly concerned 4.1.
I'm not saying you should raise your panic meter or anything - only that the fact that Wycombe are selling tickets directly rather suggests there is some considerable doubt over the fixture being played and therefore it will be easier for a solvent Wycombe to sort out refunds should that be required.....

If BWFC were selling them - I'd be far happier.

BWFC selling them is very unlikely before takeover. What funds do they go into?

WWFC selling them is a decent sign. They don't have to do that, it's not their fans. And although it's an income stream, they are opening themselves up to refund admin headache.

Yes, but given where we are, surely it would take time to get our whole ticket selling operation up and running, even if we were to complete the takeover now. Wycombe would also have to send the tickets up to Bolton, and then we would have to send the unsold tickets back on Thursday?

Generally, I am interpreting the fact that Wycombe are selling away tickets means that they have been in touch with us, and at least been told that it isn't completely out of the question that the game will go ahead.

Nixon (I know) is saying it is unlikely the takeover will go ahead today mind.

Perhaps 4.2...

Presumably the same black hole into which our April season ticket payments went. Where's that money gone? Cunto Kenny certainly didn't use it to pay anybody with (with the possible exception of himself).

Well, a different black hole. Presumably anything before we went into admin on May 13 disappeared into KenWorld. Anything after is, I'm sure, efficiently documented, but they don't want any more work than is necessary.

Genuine question: do we actually make any more money if we sell our own tickets for away games? Or less, as we'd have to pay ticket-office staff?

EFL wave their big stick. 5pm today to provide assurances or Wycombe game is "suspended".
Following extensive discussions with the Administrators of Bolton Wanderers, the ownership at Bury and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) over the course of the weekend some progress has been achieved in regard to the respective challenges they currently face.

However, concerns do remain and both Clubs are required to provide confirmation to the League’s satisfaction that they can meet all outstanding commitments.

To give both Clubs the maximum opportunity to comply with the request, a deadline of 5pm on Monday 29 July has been set for them to provide the EFL with the necessary evidence. The 5pm cut-off point replaces the noon deadline issued to Bury, which was confirmed on Friday evening.

If the information is not received, the EFL Board is likely to suspend the opening day fixtures against Wycombe Wanderers (Bolton Wanderers) and MK Dons (Bury) under the provision of EFL Regulation 28.2.

The EFL will continue to offer its full assistance and support to both Clubs in order to achieve the objective of securing long-term futures for them but with the season now a matter of days away there is no other option but for all outstanding matters to be brought to a conclusion.

Honestly don't know. I'm told that the away club has to commit to paying for as many tickets as they ask for. Whether or not they buy at a discounted rate then sell at face value though I've no idea.

After being told by the administrators that he wasn't getting his contract renewed.

Weren't Liverpool supposedly sniffing around him not that long ago?

Personally think if game is called off that is it.....so this seems like an absolutely massive, gigantic afternoon in the history of Bolton Wanderers football club.

Mike Keegan, Daily Mail:
"On Bolton - latest issue is with payment plan offered to departed players. 20% of outstanding wages now, rest over next two years. Believe PFA recommending they accept (run risk of nothing if club liquidated). Piece with @AdrianJKajumba @MailSport soon. #bwfc"

By the way, EFL Regulation 28.2 is as follows:

28.2 Notwithstanding the provisions of Regulation 28.1, The League reserves the right at any time to reschedule a League Match after consultation with and consideration of representations from the Clubs involved.

(And that's it).

I don't think the Bury sitch helps us re: Brentford either. If that looked like a complete one-off freak situation then we might have got away with it (I think they'd have given us -3 fwiw) but with the obvious risk that both we and Bury might not be ready for game one I think they might want to send a message.
