How you getting there?the-Bowtun-Warrior wrote:Is there anything around Villa park? Anywhere decent to eat?
Gonna be there a little earlier. A bite for tea would be nice?
Never been before.
Could eat in the city centre, then make your way to the ground. Last time I went, ended up in The Cap & Gown.....unsure if they did food.
Re: Villa Away.
Not sure on the food front. Getting something in the city centre may be best if you're going that way.the-Bowtun-Warrior wrote:Is there anything around Villa park? Anywhere decent to eat?

Re: Villa Away.
Wheater, Ream and Ricketts at centre half, with Steinsson and Alonso as wing-backs. Can't beat Wigan, might as well join them.
FWIW, my completely uneducated 'reckon' is that Mark Davies will be fit and it'll be the same team.

Bit concerned that the excuses are out again pre-game.
The Petrov card pacifies our Muamba card, and maybe even gazzumps it.
Might watch Gazza beat Barca instead.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Hi guys, QPR fan in peace.
I'm not sure I can bring myself to wish you luck tonight (I'm sure you understand), but I did want to empathise with you after reading this thread.
The number of combinations that you guys are suggested for your line up tonight are absolutely dizzying - and I am sure you agree are a major factor in your downfall this season. For ourselves, our turnaround in form (at home) has directly coincided with a team that picks itself.
One question: how much have injuries and sales affected you this season. I mean, there is a lot of disquiet about Coyle, but you have a pretty extensive absentee list?
All the best.

Re: Villa Away.
Injuries have crucified us. But instead of becoming a more solid outfit and keeping scores down, we've changed nothing. And considering 2 of our most creatuve players haven't kicked a ball and we've lost our 2 top scorers due to other circumstances, that's pretty feckin' baffling.

Keep the Faith. COYWM.
Re: Villa Away.
You should be in Birmingham (like I am). The Villa fans are almost suicidal at present. They obviously haven't seen us play. And if you thought Megson was hated, their views of McLeish are unprintable.
Re: Villa Away.
Alot of losses have been down to silly tactics and selections but injuries this year are ridiculous. Our best player, Chung Yong, breaks his legs and if his replacement is Chris Eagles you will always struggle. Holden, our other best player, was due back soon after the start of the season. He plays one game, theres a complication and he's out all season.flatfoot wrote:

The rest of it seem deliberated to get us. Alonso has his only good games, breaks his foot. Mears out before he's even played a game. We switch to 4-5-1 after 4-4-2 is terrible for us and our midfielders are dropping like flies. Muamba first, then Pratley with a knee injury. We solve this by playing Eagles through the middle. Then we hear Davies is out so bring in a youth player, then a Miyachi could be out so Eagles will have to play on the wing leaving us with few other options than playing people WAY out of position or playing 4-4-2 again.
Sales have affected us less. It would've been nicer if we'd have kept Elmander maybe but if Kevin Davies hadn't declined so much we wouldn't have noticed. Since Cahill has gone our defence has been better. Taylor and Eagles aren't really that different in ability.

I think if we still had Cahill, we'd have more points personally.

I think the defence has been better since he's left but I think that's more down to dropping Knight than Cahill. I just don't think the sale has affected us that much. We'd probably have a few more goals though.boltonboris wrote:I think if we still had Cahill, we'd have more points personally.
Re: Villa Away.
We could have got decent cover for the first two, we've had the chance. Are you taking the piss over the third? it's soon been forgotton that Coyle was hardly feckin' playing him hasn't it?a1 wrote:does it feck

Re: Villa Away.
I'm down that way this afternoon & tomorrow, so booked a cheapish hotel nearby. I then had a scout around & yep ... b-all food available. Not even an odd pizza place or Indian. So, I may start on that diet after all. That'll please some folk.LiOC wrote:Not sure on the food front. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

My mate in here is a Villa fan. I don't know who's the more nervous.
Actually now I think about it's me. I'm more nervous than he is.
Much more nervous.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

I'm going to have to say villa to win it 1-0 and all hell to break loose on here immediately after the game.

Im thinking a Villa win too but thats based only on Villa being one of those clubs I cant imagine being relegated so theyll have to get the win they need at some point.
On the other hand though, I look at their starting line ups against United and Sunderland and barring Given, perhaps Ireland who has been in decent form - and they've got nothing. Agbonlahor up front and captain? Come on Wanderers we have to go down there and go for it - at least look like you want to stay up!
Villa 2-0 Wanderers - Agbonlahor (2), Given saves penalty.

Re: Villa Away.
According to SSN, villa have only won one out their last 11 home games, scoring only 8 goals.
3-0 to villa it is then !
3-0 to villa it is then !
