I'm going to email Mick now and tell him what you said. He'll take the job just to piss you off.
And then everyone will know it was your fault.
So touche, didn't see that one coming, did you?

I didn't see that one coming either.

Again take it with a pinch of salt since it's come through about 3 people from the backroom workers but it's a bit of heads up if true. He's also, if the rumour is true, currently in a bar in (Bolton) town "leaking" this information. I'll try to dig a bit more to check on the reliability.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Ian Holloway could be uprooted from Blackpool - we could tempt him away with better wages and I believe this man could build a healthy team to sustain premiership status once he gets us up and only spend 3/4 mil in transfer window. A talented chap and even on games we lose we'd have an entertaining post-match interviewSponge wrote:I still believe we have one of the most talented squads in this league, and probably the best facilities, youth set-up, and stadium. We don't have Premier League spending-power, it's true, but not many clubs do. I don't see why Bolton Wanderers wouldn't be an attractive proposition for a good manager looking to make a name or build on his career. Not that I have any clue who that "good manager" might be.
Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
Holloway has said that he left somewhere he was happy before and would not make that same mistake again.
IMO I think that he is pretty much the same as Coyle and dont think that he would make much of a difference with this set of players.

If he'd leave I'd have him here yesterday.

Don't believe it for a minute. First you sack OC and make the appropiate announcements then start the interview process. I wouldn't give it even a pinch of salt. But not the worst choice, Ian Dowie would be the worst and I have the horrible feeling...throwawayboltonian wrote:I've just heard from the same girl as before that, behind closed doors, we're trying to get Mick McCarthy as replacement to the potential removal of Coyle. First, not one manager comes close to being as bad as Coyle this side of the EvoStik leaguejaffka wrote:Holloway has said that he left somewhere he was happy before and would not make that same mistake again.

Second, Holloway has been around longer and knows how to find players and develop them, he gets everything out of his players which is something Coyle has trouble comprehending never mind put into practice (don't get me started on OC's inadequacies we could be here all night)
I'd be a little nervous appointing Holloway but is a realistic solution - Curbishley is out of touch with the championship I suspect, Billy Davies talks a good talk (not a bad choice) but not as good as Holloway IMO

In actual achievements has Holloway done much more than Coyle?Barefoot Wanderer wrote:First, not one manager comes close to being as bad as Coyle this side of the EvoStik leaguejaffka wrote:Holloway has said that he left somewhere he was happy before and would not make that same mistake again.

I agree that Coyle's leadership has not worked out, although I wish that it had but I dont agree with him being the worst manager ever.
Holloway is entertaining in a way with his idiosyncrasies and I was pleased to see him take Blackpool to the premier league despite disliking that club and town, however when he was there he made a commitment to play the same way and have a go, any different than Coyle's stubborness or is he just charming?
