Re: Possible Loan deals
Seen suggestion elsewhere we were trying to send KD to Leeds in return for Diouf on loan but KD wouldn't go.
Where is this coming from? Nixon I presume.....

Diouf !! Blimey, that'd be an experience.BWFC_Insane wrote:Seen suggestion elsewhere we were trying to send KD to Leeds in return for Diouf on loan but KD wouldn't go.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Is 'Butterfield' the new 'Davies'?

Re: Possible Loan deals
The Holden deal seems ideal to me. He goes and plays a few games for Wednesday, gets match fit, sharpens himself up and comes back to play a full part in the playoffs!
Alternatively...........
He's got to get stuck in at some time, no more likely to break down playing for them than for us.

Would be the best thing that had happened to the club since we sacked Coyle surely.bobo the clown wrote:Diouf !! Blimey, that'd be an experience.BWFC_Insane wrote:Seen suggestion elsewhere we were trying to send KD to Leeds in return for Diouf on loan but KD wouldn't go.

I reckon when Freedman first turned up he said to Gartside, 'Get me Butterfield in on loan.' and Phil f*cked up!Prufrock wrote:Is 'Butterfield' the new 'Davies'?

Re: Possible Loan deals
Dont really know either incoming player
Gutted STU hasnt bedded back in yet. Entirely understandable loan in the circumstances.

Re: Possible Loan deals
Freedman and this Butterfield were team mates for six years, so accepting that he's a bit older now, at least Freedman will have a fair idea of what he's signed.

i thought we were against managers signing their aged mates!!Enoch wrote:Freedman and this Butterfield were team mates for six years, so accepting that he's a bit older now, at least Freedman will have a fair idea of what he's signed.

Were it a £20,000/week 5 year deal, I would certainly be wincing. For a one or two month loan I'll cut him some slack.
Re: Possible Loan deals
We are! The only bloke who was for that was Owen bloody Coyle. Hang on...thebish wrote:

Re: Possible Loan deals
A sensible utilitybloke and a promising youngster, but I can't say I'm overwhelmed.
For the record though, I think the Holden loan's a good idea.

I can think of several things better that have happend since we sacked Coyle, this wouldn't even come close IMHO, I'd rather look forward than backward.bwfcdan94 wrote:Would be the best thing that had happened to the club since we sacked Coyle surely.bobo the clown wrote:Diouf !! Re: Possible Loan deals
When we first signed Butterfield 1 (Jacob) from Norwich I thought we had in fact signed Butterfield 2 (Danny) for that very reason. Was not so pleased that it was Jacob rather than Danny, this lad Danny Butterfield is quite exciting and is considered one of Palace's best players and played in most of their premiership games, I think he is more an experienced player now at 33 but clearly has some talent. Am I right in saying though that he quite recently moved to Southampton?Enoch wrote:Freedman and this Butterfield were team mates for six years, so accepting that he's a bit older now, at least Freedman will have a fair idea of what he's signed.

We seemed to have signed somebody who can only ever score when he plays up front. 3 goals playing once as a striker 1 goal playing 6 years in other positions !
. Merson's reaction is brilliant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uhb12W5TY0
