As Simon Charlton said on Radio Manc - if only we'd started this push two months ago...
But an excellent point.

We were no better than the away game at Ipswich 5 weeks ago. We lost that because of a penalty, and everyone hated Dougie. Tonight there was no penalty. We still sat back and hoped for the best. We had 18 shots against us tonight.knobby wrote:Hard to believe that some people easily forget how much better we are now than 4 weeks ago !

Exactly what I was thinking. Bruce, you are clearly a very wise man.Bruce Rioja wrote:Yes, me too. However, I'd have taken a point after us having gone for all three.wonka wrote:I'd have taken a point before the game.

Saturday's result was a fluke. Before tonight, they'd won 8 of their previous 10 home games. Setting up to take a point - and three if we could hit them on the counter - was the right thing to do.DJBlu wrote:Are you all on crack?
Who did they lose to at the weekend?
They were there for the taking. Dougie bottled it.

As far as I am concerned, we are still in a relegation battle.
This is another point to safety.
Good result I say.

There for the taking? Aye, they're third because they're shite. One loss against the run of play last weekend doesn't make them a poor team. Especially against us. Get a grip.DJBlu wrote:Are you all on crack?

Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

Pfffft.

Aye, that we did. Only 6 of those tested Boggers. We had 4 shots on target during the game, a moohasive 2 shots less than them.Jugs wrote:We were no better than the away game at Ipswich 5 weeks ago. I suppose we could have equally lost it that way too. A few weeks ago we'd have lost this game horribly, so the progress is good.LeverEnd wrote:Exactly what I was thinking. Frankly I think a point is good however it was achieved.
Tinkering with the team put pressure on Douglas to get something out of the game though, but I guess his decision paid off.

Played five, won three drawn two lost none. If we could manage a home win against Brighton ( who have just beaten Q.P.R 2-0 tonight) Saturday it wouldn't look half bad right now. Of course that's if Bournemouth and Wednesday lose, and both have a game in hand. But it's a start.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Probably not, I really meant that I am and well done for agreeing with me.

In the end a result which set against the season is a decent one. I am just disappointed that he reverted to the "let's worry about them" mentality. What's been uplifting in the past few games is that we've taken the game to teams ... and it's come off. I can't for my life work out how his mind works.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Cracking performance.
For all their possession, they never looked threatening. Until Sammon's back pass at the death, we'd had the two best attempts on goal.
Lots of good pro performances, Kamara was immense, Knight, again, great value.
Derby lads telling me they were robbed; I thought they were lucky we didn't win 0-1!
.
They set up to pummel us tonight, their frustration was palpable, they were cancelled out time and again.
.
It's a funny old game.

Perhaps he felt an attack minded Derby side were not the right team to go and push tr game against? I dunno. The changes did seem odd. But he played Moritz so it wasn't totally negative. Point is a point.bobo the clown wrote:In the end a result which set against the season is a decent one. I am just disappointed that he reverted to the "let's worry about them" mentality. you're supposed to say "he fixed the tombola machine with the numbered balls that he were using before the watford game" or "even a paper plate with a face drawn on it couldve managed them to a 9-0 victory against that crap"BWFC_Insane wrote:
