Awful performance, awful team, awful game and the hot water wasn't on in the toilet.

Almost fell asleep during that first half.

I'm disappointed that Mason didn't get a chance today.

Meh! We won. Who cares. We're George Graham era Arsenal. Singing "1-0 to The Wanderers"

Dreadful game, but a welcome 3 points. Baptiste has been a liability all season. Beckford and Moritz were awful, Beckford gets off the hook though to be fair. Hall has some ability but is a player I'll never warm to, weak and inconsistent and partial to a dive.
Spearing had a decent game, Trotter did nothing wrong in a deeper role, Chungy was there but did little. Hard to single anyone out for either praise or criticism. I missed the goal having gone for a pint and wasn't even that bothered, which is bad.
Barnsley were awful but had a clear chance in both halves and a penalty and could have won if they had a clue.
Bye bye Mason, played well in this spell, shame we didn't get to give him a clap.

Today the latest in a run of fairly dire undeserved 1-0ś

Pattern, style entertainment nah. Just can't be arsed anymore

If Barnsley's strikers weren't stealing a living today we could have been battered. Neither Beckford or Moritz are what we need up front, neither a patch on Juke for effort. Moritz passed to them more than his team mates, Beckford's as robust as a paper doll and I thought Chungy played well enough seeing as he was one of the few trying to get near their radiation zone. Ariel goal kicks, ariel throws, ariel forty yard hopefuls and aimless head tennis. How much are they on? A hardly deserved win but worth keeping in mind you need a few luckies. We got one today.

I've not yet read the rest of this & I may be repeating what others have said .... (& as I type I see Wiggin get a penalty) but that was 4 hours, all told, which I never get back. What a pile of fecking shite.

It may well be that Freedman was taking the opportunity to try some ideas out ... fair play ... but we now KNOW that Moritz is never a starter. He had no impact whatsoever. Beckford ... OK he scored .... but otherwise was a waste of a place.

Trotter ... wtf was that position all about ? Has he got negatives of Dougie with Jimmy Savil or something ? He said he wanted to see if he could play alongside Spearing and that he showed that he could !!! He showed that he fckg couldn't. Slow, lumbering oaf that he is he added to our wealth of knowledge of him that he has only one weight of pass ; heavy.

Slow, cumbersome. Slow of thought as well as movement.

Hall .... I so, so, so want him to come good, but right now he's not in the game, lightweight and devoid of cunning. Some serious training ground work is needed.

Baptiste, given that he was brought off as soon as the penalty was missed, I fear may be on the transfer list over the summer. Unless he was injured then I think Freedman has lost all patience with the man.

The on/off/on/off/on substitution at the time of the penalty was bizarre. Prior to it being awarded Medo was stripped off and waiting for a break in play to come on. As it was taken he sat down and put his top bck on. Mason stripped off to add to the attack but once it was missed and we weren't chasing a winner he too was sat down again. But now he took Baptiste off, moved Ream to full-back and brought on Knight. All very odd.

I was hearing stories that Mavies' 'injury' emanates from a very unpleasant falling out with Freedman in training last week ... anyone else know about this one ??

A performance so dreadful that at times I laughed out loud at the ineptness.

Not all that surorising as DF makes 6 changes, all of them unforced. Presumably he is looking to who to keep/bid for for next season.

The answer, for me, is not many.

Moritz had an awful first half and didn't improve in the second. Lee was nowhere - he is a player without heart these days. But no one at all showed any reason to expect a pay rise.

Tim Ream was poss our MotM and he nearly gave away a second half goal.

Barnsley had more chances. And better ones. and they weren't very good either.

Grim!

Right. I'm preparing to be lambasted for this but to me there is no such thing as a "undeserved win". It's a massive fallacy. Barnsley simply weren't good enough to put away their chances. We won, that's it, end of story. Who's next for Wanderers to play?

Let's recognise the fact that we've lost 1 in 12 games and be happy, 6 wins and 5 draws

Nope. Before anyone drags up posts of me saying we should have got rid of Freedman earlier on in the campaign, it has become more than apparent that he isn't going anywhere. So, on that note like it or lump it, Freedman will be here next year. As a result I will be throwing my weight behind my side from now on regardless.

The only thing I could think of, was he could've probably bought most of the bench on without getting booed.

Plus point.

That was hard work and very lucky to get away with it.

Baptiste is one of those full backs described as good at going forward. A walking penalty machine, I think that the subbing was telling.

Trotter, wtf? He is supposed to be the future!

Moritz must be colour blind. One of those players being better on the bench and coming on when he game has already been won.

Beckford, I'm not a fan. Show pony without many tricks.

We might be on a good run but we ride our luck and rarely hammer teams. I'm not getting excited about the future.

It's noticeable that the usual vociferous doom mongers are absent...

A win is still a win even if the game was dire, we are now 3 points closer to the finishing in the top half of the table and 3 points closer to finishing above Reading.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

course there isn't, theres only W D or L. I'll take the undeserved win as easily as the next guy and fully appreciate you'll win some you shouldn't and lose some you shouldn't and I simply use the deserved/ underserved ratio as an underlying performance indicator, as scraping undeserved wins when the opposition dominate , or have more chances, possession etc will only last so long.

I'm desparately looking for how the team is developing to DFs vision, particularly as he's again saying its coming together. IMO most of his tenure has been a shambles on the pitch, performance, excitement and entertainment wise. As has been debated on here before, in last seasons good run, we were generally unconvincing. I'm looking at our current good run and again feel unconvinced, unexcited and unentertained - seriously Barnsley are just the latest who will be thinking how the feck did we not win that.

In any good run, I'd expect the team confidence etc to grow, affecting positively how the manager/ team/players approach the game and the quality of what they do. Given theres no pressure on them either now, is it too much to think they might serve something up that stops people looking at their phones, or just watching the planes passing overhead. As one nearby wag shouted today - theres a lot of rubbish on the pitch.

Thought we were poor all round today, although the centre back pairing worked ok on the whole. We rode our luck, but three points is three points.

How does Trotter earn a living as a footie player??!

Looking forward to a huuuuuge summer clear out. Rumours around me that M Davies has agreed a move to Leicester and is not being played to ensure he doesn't get injured. More disconcertingly for me, rumours Ream is off to West Brom.

Today was absolutely dire. Really dumb founded for why there have been all these shouts for Moritz to start. He was absolutely useless today. And bone idle to boot. Good sub and squad played. Not a starter, not in this league.

Beckford had an ok game but he just doesn't work hard enough to hold the ball up. Good runs, good finish for his goal but please just preserve our possession a bit more.

Lee and Hall both flattered to deceive. Neither really created much and both had enough ball to do much better. Lee needs shunting out pronto.

Back four were ok, Baptiste got roasted all afternoon but he is playing out of position. His recklessness has become tiresome though.

Mills was solid. Hutton quietly more and more impressive.

Trotter for me looked better, still not sure he is playing exactly in his best position, but he looked better today, has a surprisingly decent range of passing at times. Still up and down but better than before, which isn't saying much but....

Still a win is a win. Let's lose a few now so that we aren't on too good a run going into next season. I don't want us going in on a good run again, statistically it will only mean one thing....

Did anyone else see the Baptiste challenge and think "Far East betting syndicate"? Not me, obviously, I just thought some might.
