The performance, not Lonergan's shot.

Neil Lennon is running out of time. The Bolton boss decides to replace Jerome Beckford with Max Clayton. Former Norwich forward Darren Huckerby has remarked that Beckford ran quicker off the pitch than he did on it. He has a point.

He's simply reverted to his Freedman days. How long can the club tolerate this wanker ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Ahh well by all accounts we have not played very well, beat 2-1, by a very good team. Mr lennony will has just seen how poor we can be..
on the up side what sort of a scoreline would that have been with freedman in charge

Not good enough. Good side Norwich, but not an excuse for our performance.

None of the back four had good games today. Threlkeld seemed nervy, Redmond had Ream in his pocket and all four made mistakes.

Biggest problem today was giving the ball away. Gave away possession so often without even being under pressure.

Oh yeah, and so tame going forward.

Well plenty to go at there
Decent first half
Poor second bordering on freedmanesque all created by the needless introduction of the wardrobe on casters that is liam trotter. Frustrating when vela is on bench.
Beckford wants bombing out. Wrong sub to bring clayton on.

Only bright points dervite, mark davies, pratley and chungy...oscar grew into the game as well, though thankfully redmond wasnt switched!

Commentators going on about positives for Bolton, but I'm not feelign it. I'm generally positive about our prospects under Lennon, but that was a step backwards and a big reality check. We looked like easy pickings at times, and rarely looked like scoring.
I think Lennon can learn plenty from that though. Like never start Beckford again.
I think Wheater might fancy his chances of a quick recall if the centre halves play like that again on Tuesday. Threlkeld looked out of his depth early on, but it's a tough place for him to come in at and he stuck at it. Ream had a hard time but Redmond is a good player, he'd have made mincemeat out of Moxey.
Chungy still looking good, Danns worked really hard to keep things going and Mavies showed flashes, should be more to come from him. Pratley is a poor footballer skillwise, but an honest one and he did ok.
I'd be amazed and very disappointed if Cravies isn't starting on Tuesday. If not I think the boos might be back for Beckford and we don't need that kind of negativity.

Soon as the first goal went in we we're bound to struggle. The packed the defense very well and we struggled to find an outlet. I think a game like that would be crying out for Feeney's pace to stretch the opposition but we seemed to compact the play to midfield too often.

Fair few decent performances but nothing to be overly critical about.

Just hard to see Mark Davies and Pratley on the wings and think yeah that's the right move. We've got too many central midfielders and it shows. Ream covering as a winger didn't help, despite his efforts.

Sorry to see Clayton go into his shell after missing that opportunity. It was a good run that made the opportunity and probably the best pass we had all match.

Regarding our throw ins. There needs to be more movement just to make it look like we're going to exploit other options and free up space. Seemed to be only one pass available at the throw ins.

Nonsense. Ream was made to look poor by a classy opponent. bad night for him no doubt.
Beckford failed to remotely challenge a defence that concedes goals.

You know, it's quite touching in a way how you defend players who are being criticised a lot, but has it occurred to you that the something something might be that they are playing rubbish and the criticism is valid? Anyway, good night to you and all, I'm off.

I thought it was a fairly good performance aside from some poor individual moments. I do ask the naysayers what they expect though, this is a team lacking in quality aside from one or two players and yet despite that there is clear indications that Lennon is getting more out of this quad than his predecessor. I think a few of you need to take your expectations down a peg or two.

The poorest 70 minutes I've seen for a while and a performance DF would have been slaughtered for. We looked great until the first goal went in. What was Mills doing letting his man turn and run past him?? It was beyond me.

Up to that point, we looked confident. After that we didn't win a single second ball and couldn't keep possession.

What really pished me off was Lennon sitting back and not changing it earlier. Clayton looked like a rabbit caught in the headlamps and how he got on in front of Cravies is anyone's guess.

The saying 'you can't polish a turd' comes to mind. DF has left a poor squad behind. I still think we can finish mid table, but we need to create more. This January transfer window will be critical.

yeah, i know, but if knight/trott/elmander had played as bad as ream/spearing/eagles have then theyd get the stick.

"fecking knight's fault again i hope he feck* off, look, he's talking to a mate fecking burn him" verses "ream played OK for ten minutes"

a bit frightening that we carnt even get the odd point away though.

.. that kept us up in that freedman season
