Re: Lennon out!
Well, for 80 minutes yes. I'm just interested in there being a club for us to support next season and beyond. As much as I love watching Chorley once in a while I wouldn't want to do it every week.BWFC_Insane wrote:Obviously a lucrative 5th round draw would have been great financially. But I can see the apathy towards it all. I have to say that whilst for the club winning on Saturday would have been great, the fans seemed barely interested as did the players. Perhaps it is chicken and egg and both need the other to get them going. But I could barely get bothered as it became evident we'd be making no further progress.

I agree though that right now all that I'm bothered about is safeguarding the immediate future of the football club. It is why for me the sooner a takeover happens the quicker plans can be put in place for next season. This limbo period is only doing damage and creating uncertainty. The club desperately needs new leadership and direction. Even if that means making hard choices that would be better than drifting as we are.

Re: Lennon out!
I remember this argument being rolled out when we played in Lisbon. I'd love to resurrect that thread. You might aswell go for it in football, on a game by game basis, because ultimately a club like ours will always have cyclical peaks and troughs. Us being out of the cup is going to do little, if anything, for our chances of survival. Imagine if we'd drawn an Arsenal, United or City in the next round?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Sadly I can. Losing 15 nil to their youth team doesn't set me a quiverLord Kangana wrote:Imagine if we'd drawn an Arsenal, United or City in the next round?

Aye, but the 1/3rd or 1/2 a million generated would go a long way wouldn't it?

I think we reached uncertainty-peak quite a long time ago! making our future less certain has ceased to be a huge deal!Enoch wrote:Who said so, Iles, or Nixon?BWFC_Insane wrote:This limbo period is only doing damage and creating uncertainty.

EDIT: also - is it REALLY doing damage? we've actually won a couple of games recently under conditions of peak uncertainty!

In my naivety, I'm happy to consider this limbo period, may, just be doing us a whole heap of good.thebish wrote:I think we reached uncertainty-peak quite a long time ago! making our future less certain has ceased to be a huge deal!Enoch wrote:Who said so, Iles, or Nixon?BWFC_Insane wrote:This limbo period is only doing damage and creating uncertainty.

Re: Lennon out!
One can look at it either way. If you were Eddie Davies you might survey the huge financial meltdown that relegation has precipitated and conclude that the club were right to try and stay up by any means possible (apart from the subsequent hugely inflated spending on rubbish players of course).Lord Kangana wrote:I remember this argument being rolled out when we played in Lisbon. You can as a fan argue that relegation was inevitable at some point. But given what has happened since, one might understand a decision to prioritise survival.

Yes it is damaging, on a huge scale. Fans are uncertain, players uncertain, there isn't a clear future or plan. Where other clubs are planning towards next season we are living in a day by day state.thebish wrote:I think we reached uncertainty-peak quite a long time ago! making our future less certain has ceased to be a huge deal!Enoch wrote:Who said so, Iles, or Nixon?BWFC_Insane wrote:This limbo period is only doing damage and creating uncertainty.

We are under a transfer embargo and are having to reduce the size of our squad with us already rooted to the bottom of the table. The club has a massive lack of leadership and this shines through at times.
I've worked in several organisations who have been in similar situations either through financial difficulty or takeover and subsequent re-arrangement, do not underestimate how much damage it can do in the short, medium and long term, especially if a proper resolution isn't found. How many decent staff members for example have chosen to leave or may do so the longer it drags on? How much expertise could be lost?
There is little spirit at the club right now. People are trying their best, but ultimately the place needs a huge lift and soon.

Re: Lennon out!
Does anyone know if Lennon gets involved in any of the coaching ? We appear to have been making the same mistakes all season long, they are by far the most disorganised side in the division - game after game we make the same defensive errors, game after game the midfield is completely wide open.
Lennon has improved absolutely nothing at the club, his signings have been abysmal, his tactics none existent and we still lack leadership anywhere on the pitch. We are so easy to play against and the team still play like a team of complete strangers who don't work on anything specific during the week OR is it that our players are just so poor / talentless that no matter what they are told during the week, they are incapable of carrying out the managers instructions.
Lennon has to go as soon as the club is taken over - as the team will still be as disorganised and making the same mistakes in League 1.
