Could Lennon have bought better in the summer? Of course he could, he might have had a higher success rate picking 10 players at random. I'm just saying it's a difficult job to improve your side with players on less money than those you've already got (and when you're limited to free transfers and loaning kids), and if you try you're going to get failures.

Wonder if we'll mutually cut our losses on any other player whose contract expires this summer. Those being: Paul Rachubka, Ross Fitzsimons, David Wheater, Quade Taylor, Neil Danns, Jordan Lussey, Liam Feeney, Emile Heskey, Stephen Dobbie, Tom Eaves

It wouldn't bother me to see a goalie leave, nor Lussey and Eaves but I'd prefer to keep the rest. I'd give Taylor a new contract at the end of the season (if he's good enough) and I'd also give Feeney a new one if we can afford to keep him next year. As bad as Heskey and Dobbie have been at times, I still think they've got something to offer this season.

Dobbie's stayed on the bench unused for eight of the last nine games; for the other he wasn't in the squad. It's six weeks since he came on before the 85th minute, nearly three months since he played as much as 45 minutes. When chasing the game these days Lennon is more likely to fling on Woolery and (as with Saturday) not even use his third substitution.

I've nothing against the bloke but obviously he's not enthralling Lennon.

Aye, but even if he gets chucked on just one more time between now and the end of the season and scores a 94th minute winner that gives us a crucial 3 points it'd be worth keeping hold of him. And he's the kind of player that could do that.

And to think people doubted me and Dobbie! Go on lad!

I wouldn't say shot-shy. Lack of composure, maybe. Stats at Sky and BBC have us as having 15/16 shots with only 5 on target. Not picking argument

Very good point from being 2-0 down, but its only a good point if we beat Rotherham on Saturday.

Showed much needed character, spirit & some bottle tonight though, so credit where its due - we need to fight like this in every game, well done the players & management team....this is all we've been asking for fighting spirit & passion.

Apparently we bossed the game, so come on NL learn from it whatever happened tactically or whoever made a difference (Spearing, Dobbie or whoever ?) tonight stick with it.
