Well it's been entertaining end-to-end stuff. I'd rather be a neutral watching this though.

Randell is great when we have possession, but he's not the man for a scrap.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:48 pmAgreed
Iredale a miss, Randell’s not the man tonight

Iredale…sorry can’t agree with this. If Randell is struggling then Iredale would be torn apart…lads got no pace.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:48 pmAgreedGhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:47 pmThommo missing his block.
They've got us on toast down that right hand side. Toal is getting torn to bits.

The problem tonight is that Santos is being dominated and I think when that happens we will always struggle with this system. Leaves too much space to cover.
Ultimately we’ve not kept the ball well enough as the half wore on either.
And of course Charles hasn’t turned up.

Well, I've seen us play much worse. Had Dion done what Dion's done more than a dozen times this season, we'd have deserved the lead. But, and it's a sizeable but, we now have to come from behind at the league leaders. We made them look fairly ordinary for the first quarter and we can do it again. Interesting to see how long Bod lasts, and when Evatt throws Dempsey on - although for who is a good question: Maghoma has already toasted their backline but Tomo can spy a pass behind them.
Not too despondent. Sickener at the end of the half but good teams come back from those, and we're a good team. How good? Dunno.

It's not about pace. Randell isn't getting done for pace, he's being roughed out of it and then not tracking once they go through him.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:50 pmIredale…sorry can’t agree with this. If Randell is struggling then Iredale would be torn apart…lads got no pace.
Toal is being left one-on-one and it's ugly.

Good first half. Enjoyable game.
Could've had a pen but could've conceded a few more. Easy tap in for dion who majority of the time would've put that away. Hopefully go again in second half and set it right.
Going to be interesting to see if Pompey try and frustrate now or keep it end to end

Bod has been brilliant when the ball is right to him. Blu is right that Bod isn't doing his pressing job properly.
This is both why people want him in the team and why Evatt hasn't been playing him.

I think their midfield 3 are better than ours - Sheehan has been well marshalled.
Iredale better defensively than Randell, but it’s a close call that one. He’s been lacking physically and all there attacks are coming down that side.
And I don’t think santos has been dominated, he’s in a game for sure.
Ultimately they are a good team, and if that’s them without their best two players they are probably a better side than us. I’m sure we’ll have a go second half.

Looked nervy. Shit from Dion, the ref, and bad from George and Bod. Shame as Bod has been excellent otherwise.
Rico has struggled and Eoin has been awful.
Got to step up now. Get something from this and it feels like a win now.
Cue last minute 2-2 equaliser for them

Toal is often left one on one as is santos. Maybe the fact they can’t deal with it shows their limitations and perhaps is a warning about not being able to do this a level up?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:52 pmIt's not about pace. I would say that the midfield hasn’t covered across as well as it usually does and noticeably Thomason on that side has not done the covering I’d expect and I think it’s probably indicative that we’ve not been dominant in midfield and have too much space to cover.

The reason Thommo isn't making those runs is because Bod isn't doing the work Vic usually does.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:56 pmToal is often left one on one as is santos. Should say that whilst the defence have been distinctly iffy, Baxter has been immense.

He’s been one of our best players first half ffs. Maybe even the best.

Had to go rescue the daughter after she broke down. Bad score to come home to but lets hope we can make something of it in the second half.

Toal is now actively avoiding the ball.

How hasn't the ref seen that jumping Pack tackle? Does it even matter if you win the ball with studs up like that? feck me.
