Point is - regardless of circularities or money sat in a bank account, either they'll get through the process to the acceptance of all parties or they won't - the time in which that will occur one way or another is surely shortening rather than lengthening.

What I want to know is who will tell us tonight at one minute past five what the answer was?
Iles, Nixon, the Daily Mail, Shazza, the EFL, or Paul Appleton?????

There's no guarantee that tonight is the night...we might end up with a suspended game - in which case the torture continues. I'd be delighted if it was all wrapped up by one minute past 5, given it wouldn't surprise me if documents didn't hit EFL until 16:59 or a call at 16:59 explaining that the docs will be in by <insert other timeframe here>...Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:21 pmYup.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:08 pmPoint is - regardless of circularities or money sat in a bank account, either they'll get through the process to the acceptance of all parties or they won't - the time in which that will occur one way or another is surely shortening rather than lengthening.

Re: Administration and recovery
My overriding emotion this afternoon is one of sadness. I think back to the memories made down the years - watching them from the depths of the 4th division - that day at Wrexham - the rise under Rioch - the many cup upsets at Burnden - Wembley - rising from virtual extinction under Allardyce to the top 6, the UEFA cup, watching Anelka, Jay Jay etc......
To think right now that in a matter of days possibly even less that history could in effect be erased and this great great football club be no more - is just - well its just sadness.
To think my kids and future generations may not get to enjoy seeing their town club play football.
And yes this is probably "over dramatic" but I don't think we've ever come quite this close to "the end" before and I also do worry that there doesn't seem to be a saviour here. If the sums don't add up FV won't/can't proceed. There isn't an Eddie as a fallback to reluctantly come in and keep us going....

I wasn't quoting 17:01 GMT as being the deal breaker.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:29 pmThere's no guarantee that tonight is the night...we might end up with a suspended game - in which case the torture continues. Even if the EFL 'reschedule' our game, that's not even close to the end game: I'd still like to fxcking know though who will tell me what's happened - just so I can be 'tuned' to the right channel.

We've been this close to the end about 4 times in the last 3 years!
Plenty more agony to come yet
Plenty more agony to come yet
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Well, how close were we when we hurriedly flogged-off half of The Embankment?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:42 pmThis close to the end? Not this close to liquidation ever. Close to admin a few times yes. But not existing anymore?

Well - what it would tell us (whichever source it's from) is that the EFL are/aren't happy with the business case relating to the two years running costs....Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:21 pmYup.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:08 pmPoint is - regardless of circularities or money sat in a bank account, either they'll get through the process to the acceptance of all parties or they won't - the time in which that will occur one way or another is surely shortening rather than lengthening.

Unless of course the EFL do what the EFL normally do and say "not enough information provided"...in which case everyone will, as ever, be none the fcuking wiser.

Re: Administration and recovery
Close. But the difference was that the costs were lower so there was always a way to keep a club like us alive back then - bucket rattling and lifelines won't touch the sides anymore - they're not even a drop in the ocean..... We're talking taking on £25M of liabilities with a chunk of that needing paying up front here - just to buy a league one club from administrators on -12 points. And only one group who can do it and they seemingly have come unstuck at the final hurdle.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:44 pmWell, how close were we when we hurriedly flogged-off half of The Embankment?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:42 pmThis close to the end? Its frightening to me at least. I mean my life will go on - I won't collapse - it just seems sad to me that its come to this point.

I'm predicting that the deadline will prove to be rather flexible.

Re: Administration and recovery
I can only imagine an update from the EFL - stating either game is off, or deadline extended....can't see anything else.
Club will likely tweet if game is off I suppose. Doubt administrators will comment as its not really their issue directly.

Indeed. The adage that your football club is one of only a couple of constants throughout your life is looking to be on shaky ground just now.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 3:47 pm
