Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
I think there has to be a possibility that we won't be in a position to do transfers at all.Nicko58 wrote:This is nothing more than a hunch but I suspect that our new owners plan to be very involved with the transfer side of things, particularly if money is tight. Should this prove to be correct, then we are probably going to go for someone who is more of a head coach than a manager in the traditional sense. This would tend to point us in the direction of someone like O'Driscoll as opposed to Warnock.
Perhaps part of the delay is around whether they can lift the embargo or not. I'm sure it is impossible to attract a decent candidate if they can't bring in a single player.

I knew you'd come round to my way of thinking eventually

Wayne Burnett. Bloody Hell. There's a blast from the past.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Currently working for the FA, coaching the coaches. I could've gone to one of his sessions (Working Through The Thirds - perhaps I'd've bumped into Lennon and Freedman there) but I opted for Fulham-Bolton instead...bobo the clown wrote:Wayne Burnett. Bloody Hell. There's a blast from the past.

My outside bet would be Sturrock, did really well with my home town club Argyle! 2 promotions (practically) but he's had some health issues of late so that kind of rules him out! fantastic man manager and has been there and done it.
Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience

Watched the city game at the weekend. They were in the car park at old Trafford, souness, carragher and henry. Souness taking about how poor city have been saying how the worst thing was none if them were fighting each other. In his day they'd have been scrapping and the manager would have encouraged it, had Jamie and thierry had fights, he wished city had been fighting. A full five minute rant about how they hadn't fought each other enough. Imagine that in the dressing room. Presumably he was proud of bowyer and dyer. In my head that's Peter Reid. I'd rather have Warnock!

"You can fight, but not with Paddy Kenny. Nobody's allowed to touch my Paddy."
Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
I am going to say something controversial. I'm not against Peter Reid taking over. We certainly had better shape and defended as a team after Lennon left but was it Reid or Phillips who introduced the changes? I'm going for Reid.
There, I have said it.

Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
Give credit to Reid, he's obviously keen to manage us which probably puts him in a select group given the shambles the club is right now. We won't be appointing an accomplished manager so it's beggars can't be choosers and fingers crossed whoever we end up with.

He does talk sense here. I particularly agree with his comment about needing "men" to supplement what we've got. We certainly don't need anymore donkeys that is for sure......
Meanwhile, Deano says he and Ken will have to start getting along for the good of the club....

Does he really BWFCI, can you point me in the direction of where he actually says this - I took it as that they will have to agree on a few decisions not that they have fallen out & dislike each other.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... e_defence/

In most partnerships the two parties have differing opinions, which they eventually agree a compromise to enable them to move forward - but it doesn't mean that they dislike each other, which is what you are basically saying / fabricating.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
It really doesn't matter if they love or hate each other. I couldn't care less. What is important is that there is clarity on who makes what decisions. And how those decisions are made.Peter Thompson wrote:Does he really BWFCI, can you point me in the direction of where he actually says this - I took it as that they will have to agree on a few decisions not that they have fallen out & dislike each other.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... e_defence/

Clear from this interview that previous reporting (which you dismissed as rubbish I hasten to add) about disagreement over the next manager, process and shortlist were on the nose.
They need to sort it out. Though Iles and Nixon are both suggesting there are bigger problems of a financial nature that are a priority right now.

The only link I can think of that remotely looks like our well known other co-owners in football is Lyndsey Dawn
