Yep, I've been refreshing the Twitter feed for a while now. So has Brommers, I suspect, judging by his answer to the club post about CharltonBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 6:23 pmHave to say I’d expected us to have announced a player by now.

We are now officially past "Shoretire o'clock"....this would now be very late for us to announce.

You know it makes sense...Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 5:18 pmGonna love it if we sign someone upfront today and announce it Saturday morning - maybe announce a spare keeper today...

I know nothing other than people expected it to be done today and announced. But the Wigan rumblings do make me nervous.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 6:34 pmWe are now officially past "Shoretire o'clock"....this would now be very late for us to announce.

The fact people have been so panicked by this embargo rumour tells you they do have deals close to completion.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 6:43 pmI know nothing other than people expected it to be done today and announced. But the Wigan rumblings do make me nervous.
Evatt will be fuming if we've been played on that one, when you're talking about literally "in the building" stuff.
There's that old joke in football that if it's even close to deadline day you lock the doors behind them. Bad joke, but not always bad advice.

Indeed. They were getting Gelhardt till a couple of days ago and I think it’s the financial situation that spooked Leeds there. So now you could see them on a last hurrah desperately trying to gazump us.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 6:47 pmThe fact people have been so panicked by this embargo rumour tells you they do have deals close to completion.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 6:43 pmI know nothing other than people expected it to be done today and announced. Have no idea if that has happened but guess we just wait and see.

They've already got a suspended 3 point deduction hanging over them.

Football league world claim we are signing Cameron Jerome. If that’s true I’d wonder what has gone on today…..

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Related fun story. There's a club who want a player. New(ish) manager in the building and there's a strong feeling he needs to be shown support by getting his #1 target, because he's only had one on loan so far. However, there's a lot of competition and the club know he's waiting on a call with an offer, but has set a deadline. So the meeting gets set up in the room at the ground with absolutely no mobile phone reception. A deadzone, nobody gets reception there.
The meetings going really well, then the guy's phone rings. Absolute horror on everyone's face - plan has failed, utter disaster, what kind of NASA phone does this guy have?...only it's his mum. Reception's crap, will have to talk to her later. Guy looks up and sees all the gaunt faces and says, "Oh, sorry. That was really unprofessional." 5 minutes later all smiles and done.

Dunno. Better than some. They also claim Leyton Orient are pushing hard for Sadlier.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 7:26 pmHow reliably accurate are they?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 7:11 pmFootball league world claim we are signing Cameron Jerome. Yeah have to say I have same feeling. Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Whilst I'm also getting those "oh shit" vibes, Wigan sacking Toure immediately they sign Ade would be bizarre even for them.
Though what I could easily is Toure blowing up over their deals falling through and getting sacked.
On Cameron Jerome, yeah - that feels right. Third time I've heard that name mentioned in the last two days.
