Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Saw a tweet earlier (haven't checked the stats as I can't be arsed and I'm not a know-it-all), but he was an unused substitute in 3 games before being left out completely?Enoch wrote:He remained a regular until Doncaster away, sat on the bench for the visit of Barnsley and wasn't in the squad for the last four games.thebish wrote:maybe he had a stomach problem.bobo the clown wrote:Exactly. 100%boltonboris wrote:He cost us about half a million quid didn't he? For the handful of games I saw last term I made him our best player. I think he's had a stomach problem.

Burnley are looking for a centre half, they are interested in Craig Dawson. Robert Huth is also a possible for them as well.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Apart from Bournemouth at home (8 Feb, when he came on before the hour), Medo started every Bolton game from 25 Jan (Cardiff, home, FA Cup) to 8 Apr (Doncaster away) - a run of 15 starts in 16 games.
Straight after Donny he was an unused sub at home to Barnsley, then wasn't in the matchday 18 for the final four games.
So he was definitely either injured or ostracised, to taste.

We should burn some people on the strength of this. Powerful stuff.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Apart from Bournemouth at home (8 Feb, when he came on before the hour), Medo started every Bolton game from 25 Jan (Cardiff, home, FA Cup) to 8 Apr (Doncaster away) - a run of 15 starts in 16 games.

Can't make my mind up about Medo tbh. I don't think he's as good as Spearing's first season, but I have him a country mile in front of Trotter at the moment.
If there was a prize for hitting the woodwork, he's a clear leader.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Could it not have just been a matter of resting him and/or giving fringe players a few games as there was nothing left to play for at that point of the season?

He might have been held by Al-Shabaab for all anyone on here actually knows. In fact, yes, I'm going with that! ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Yeah same. I'm guessing first time round (at the start of the season) he was dropped it was because clearly he and Spearing together wasn't working, and a) I think DF was hoping Spearing would play himself back into the form of last year when IMO he was better than I've seen Medo, and b) it's always easier to drop the .5m man than the £howevermuchmore Spearing cost. Though the first of these is the only one that's a proper reason.Worthy4England wrote:We should burn some people on the strength of this. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I am still undecided on Medo, he hasn't been consistent enough for me.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Aye. Dougie AT Dougie out.

Going off recent reports, we seem to be trying to offload before we bring anybody else in. Andrews and Sordell being the obvious two.

That's going to take a while. I'd imagine there is quite a queue.ChrisC wrote:Going off recent reports, we seem to be trying to offload before we bring anybody else in. Andrews and Sordell being the obvious two.

Huddersfield want Andrews but wages are proving a problem. Nobody seems to want Sordell. I think Bournemouth were linked towards the end of last season.Worthy4England wrote:That's going to take a while. I would add Chungy and possibly Wheater to that list as neither are guaranteed first team football but would demand a fee.ChrisC wrote:Going off recent reports, we seem to be trying to offload before we bring anybody else in. Andrews and Sordell being the obvious two.

I sure wouldn't off load Chungy if we can possibly keep him.malcd1 wrote:I would add Chungy and possibly Wheater to that list as neither are guaranteed first team football but would demand a fee.ChrisC wrote:Going off recent reports, we seem to be trying to offload before we bring anybody else in.
