Conor Wilkinson loaned to Pompey fer t'rest o't'season.
Go and score goals, son, 'cos you're contracted till 2018.

It's depressing some of the shite we're stuck with. You'd like to think we're not breaking the bank with him but I'd say he's certainly on more than he's worth. Unless he's playing for free.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Conor Wilkinson loaned to Pompey fer t'rest o't'season.

Thankfully the shite that we're stuck with doesn't include Conor Wilkinson for a while!LeverEnd wrote:It's depressing some of the shite we're stuck with. Just shows how low we have sunk when some of our fans and teeing to stake a claim for madine being good. I havecseen the guy play about ten times and not once has he been anything other than a disgrace. Spends all game on the floor or complaining to the ref. Can't win a header. Doesn't hold up the ball well. Poor goal return. Can't think of many worse up front over the years. And those comparing him to big kev!!!! Some of our fans very poor readers of the game

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Just shows how poor Lennon was at spotting a good freebie! He chose to throw good money away after presumably watching the lad play!

Now let's not forget about Mário Jardel. And we paid over £1m for that privilege too.bobo the clown wrote:The poorest striker I can recall .... & I saw Ian Moores

Too be fair, Jardel had an astounding resume when he joined us, he had (and I still think has) one of the best goalscoring records in europe. he's was just fecked in the head when we got him.

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
There's an immense gulf between someone making a claim for Madine being good and them acknowledging the fact that as Bolton's top goalscorer he represents Bolton's best chance of scoring a goal.jetsetwilly wrote:Just shows how low we have sunk when some of our fans and teeing to stake a claim for madine being good. Because I'm not sure anyone; and I mean absolutely anyone-with even the smallest of interests in football-would describe Gary Madine as good.

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
So as the loan window closes - we have got rid of Quade Taylor, Liam Feeney and Connor Wilkinson
The likes of Spearing, Moxey, Davies, Madine, Dobbie etc appear to be immovable objects....
I doubt we will ever get rid of them until their contracts are up
What a ficking shower of @~#t
They will be still here next season - picking up big wages - dragging us down to Div 2

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
I'm not sure anyone has claimed he's a star striker? He's as good as you get for nowt. SKD worked his socks off, but scored few in his last seasons for 30 grand a week. Im not going to write Madine off just yet. One of the worst strikers we've had in the past few years was Afobe. How much did he just cost Bournemouth? Strikers play on confidence. Clearly he didn't get on with Lennon. Next year MIGHT be a different story.jetsetwilly wrote:Just shows how low we have sunk when some of our fans and teeing to stake a claim for madine being good. ^^ bless you Bob. That's some optimism you have.
Frankly he could not possibly repeat his misses of this year. They are unfathomable.

I'm the eternal optimist!! Mcginlay hadn't set Millwall on fire, no one else wanted Bobic. I'm counting on Madine just being a slow starter. He's scored a similar total to Clough who apparently is the new Messiah, so you never know.

That opening match, against title favourites, where we played well. The new centre half was superb and Madine missed 3 chances filled me with optimism.LeverEnd wrote:Yes, it was that goalless draw with Derby where he got the woodwork. He then continued to miss chances ... including a penalty. One header v MK Dons was unbelievable. And it's continued ever since.
