You rate N'Gog at £1m?TKIZ! wrote:It would have to be £16m and NGog before we even entertain any deal
Liverpool fans think we should take Shelvey on loan 'a la Wilshere'. Couldn't see Coyle going for that, we're already overstocked in midfield. Unless he's comfortable on the right?

A lot of Liverpool fans are claiming Joe Cole is involved in the deal.

I know I hadn't seen much of him recently, but I didn't think he'd changed careers...
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I presume it'd be a straight choice between getting Joe Cole on loan or signing Wright-Phillips then.hi there, i'm chris wrote:A lot of Liverpool fans are claiming Joe Cole is involved in the deal.

12 plus N'Gog would be a pant wettingly good deal. As long as we got another centre half. We couldn't afford Danns, they want almost as much for him as we do for Cahill, and he rode massively on Johnson's coat tails. If that Onuoha at £6m was still knocking about though...

Birmingham mate said they want £8 million for him, and that he was the better defender of the two. Johnston got all the attention because he was the "get in your face, making last ditch tackles tough guy" type that stood out on TV more. Dann is the much better player. Johnston ended up at Wolves whilst apparently Arsenal and Liverpool were interested in Dann.Prufrock wrote:Give over.TKIZ! wrote:It would have to be £16m and NGog before we even entertain any deal

joe cole might be alright , but i doubt it
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Whenever I saw 'em Johnson was the one who could defend. Them ITKers reckon whichever one went first was going for whatever they could get, and they were playing hardball on t'other.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
So the word from the Soccernet guy on twitter is that we are happy with the deal: Cahill for 12mill + Ngog + loan player (with them paying some wages). We are pushing for Joe Cole as the loan, which I guess would be a CYL replacement.
But he could be speaking complete rubbish.

Would rather not get Joe Cole player on the downward spiral for me much prefer getting someone like Daniel Ayala, Aquilani (completely unlikely) or Nathan Eccleston

Ayala's gone to Norwich hasn't he?
Another name being branded about by Liverpool fans is Danny Wilson.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
If that deal is actually onto the table I'd snap their hands off.
£12 mil for a player who has a year left on his contract for us would be too much to turn down considering Coyle would be getting a player he's wanted.
I also think that Liverpool would be a good move for Cahill.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
If Cole is included as a loan, Liverpool had better be paying a big whack of this salary. Isn't he on stupid figures, well o.k. they all are but thought he was in the 80-100 thou per week range.

Bolton News rubbish it...although I'm not entirely convinced. Still think there might be something to it.
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
t'will be interesting to see if Gahill is in the side today then... if a deal is close - then he won't be risked and will have developed a minor niggle in training....
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Timing makes sense as well. Arsenal now have a sh#tload of cash to spend.
