Was pretty kind although he must be decent to have captained a side at 21 and have a prem team pick him up while still injured. Averaging a goal every 5 games before injury last season. He's probably pretty decent if the injury hasnt knocked him back
but we've made the mistake of only signing him for a month!!
It's okay, he's already played twice for Norwich, which means statistically speaking he's 100% no-doubt-about-it nailed-on-guaranteed to score against Brighton.

I called it ages ago... I said we'd sign Butterfield at the start of the season - and I said Dougie would be manager when we did it...

I had a glance at a thread on the barnsley forum from the summer when Butterfield was teasing them a bit. They seemed to think he could be the difference between midtable and top 6 and that he's their best since craig hignett.(makes you realise how spoilt we've been). However he is coming back from a serious injury so how fit and confident he is right now is questionable.

Its an odd one - are we now a club who gets players fit for big clubs? Or have we a need for an attacking midfielder? If so - why only a month? Why are norwich loaning out someone they have only recentley signed? We shall see I guess. FWIW having spoken to someone who has watched him play he rated him biut thought he wss too slow to make it in the prem.

Depends what other strengths a player has.Plenty good prem players who arent whippets although pace cant ever be a negative. You're right tho,it's odd on a number of levels. The manager noted for being a fitness freak signing a crock on a comeback and we're not short on attacking midfield options. Only a month aswell. If he does well I imagine he wont get to stay.Norwich are simply looking to get him match fit.

However,if we're playing a tight system and this is a player who can provide that spark so crucial to changing a tight game then there is plenty sense in getting him in. He could win a couple of games for us and help build momentum and he's coming in during a spell of difficult games.Lets hope he makes a difference.

Pretty conclusive. I think you had better apologise Bobo.

If he wasn't a man of the cloth I'd say he was one great big fat liar.

I said he was a liar years ago.
