Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

We have to be a much more basic side next season. None of this trying to play through a 6. Darby showed the way. Compact in behind. Some threat up top. Play off second balls. I’m confident this is what Schumacher will build. You cannot and will not get out of league one trying to play like this,
If you're confident we can play that way, and confident that Schuey will get us to play that way going forward, then why isn't Schuey doing it already knowing that whatever this is, isn't working.
Doesn’t have the players to do it. We’ve nothing to hit up front. Lost our better defenders. Schumacher has set up for periods like that when we had Victor who at least meant you could be more solid in behind and still not just surrender everything.

Whole squad needs major surgery. You will not go up with Sheehan at 6. We need some big ugly physical types who are much more savvy. And presence up front.

Might as well not bother with centre-halves

In a way without this they might have thought they had a chance.

Beaten well and truly.

Gonna cost a lot of cash to sort this. Something I fear we don't have.

You can see they're beat all over their faces.
The majority of this squad can't handle the pressure & expectation at Bolton - they should be playing for the likes of Burton, Crawley, Tranmere, Port Vale, Carlisle, Fleetwood etc. because that is their level.

Give me a player like Connell every day of the week ahead of our fairies.
Yeah completely agree. And the fact that some are continually complaining about the crowd getting on their backs reveals everything. If you want to wear a Bolton shirt you have to do the bare minimum and earn it, these lot haven’t and are the most depressing side I’ve had to watch in my time. Never have I had less face in a group of players. Don’t care about technical ability because that’s a tiny part of it. In virtually every way this is the worst group we’ve had. Maybe only the Keith Hill emergency side was worse. But that had mitigating circumstances.

With 5 defeats in 7, we don't deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs quite frankly
Indeed this was going to be my point. People keep saying we have a chance of promotion but the team have proven decisively otherwise. 5 defeats in 7 at this level for Bolton Wanderers in any circumstances is simply unacceptable. I don’t care how you dress it up. Same every season. When it matters this lot wilt.

3-0. Massive summer. Need 14-15 in, I hope the new director of football is ready and they have their lists.
15 players is unrealistic...

John McGinlay sums it up, they've played like there's nothing to play for.

Playing like they thought they'd stroll past a team who haven't won a game in 7.

Well there you go lads. That's what you get. Pathetic. Make em walk home.

We keep hearing we don't have the tanks because we buy better techincal quality. I don't think I can recall a team full if technically gifted players who hit some many passes short of target, long of target, behind the target, straight out of play etc. This has been dire at every level.

Schumacher will be at the point where he can't really shout at the players as its not going to help. They would've been shouted at last match for failing to score and now, it'll just be more of the same.

If they can't get themselves up for this then theres a clear problem.

Barnsley taking the piss now playing their wing back up top.

Or can’t cross and shoot with any accuracy. When people say technical what they mean is a bloke who passes sideways and backwards constantly and once a season scores a worldly. That’s what technical means. Or someone who pulls a drag back once then flatters to deceive for the rest of the time.

Not one to complain but the post Wigan celebrating has done the same as celebrating against these lot when we made Wembley.

Too many think it's "Job Done"

That should have been the momentum for the rest of the season.

So poor today. Nobby did us a favour today so amazingly not out of it yet.

I did think I didn’t like the celebrations after that game but felt it would be a bit churlish to point it out. But I don’t think they think it’s job done.

I think it’s a pattern that every time the pressure is on and they have a chance they bottle it. It’s mentality. It’s not ‘oh we are too good and will stroll it’ casualness it’s a lack of real bottle when it counts.

Flat track bullies maybe, win when it’s easy and doesn’t matter too much, but when the pressure is cranked up they fall apart. That is the mentality that Evatt brought but it’s systemic in this group. Needs fixing but that part is maybe easier said than done. Easy to know, probably hard to really put your finger on how to root it out.

Considering what we’ve had to work with, finishing above Barnsley, Peterborough and Rotherham is arguably a decent result this season. I predicted 8th before the season kicked off and that’s where we’re headed.

It’ll be an absolute nightmare if Reading get points deducted and 7th take their place!

         We are definitively out of it. Not a chance now with the injuries but also the performances. And in effect we have to win 4 and Reading have to not win two of their remaining games all of which are pretty easy.

By rights, we should be nowhere near. It's just whoever can stumble over the line first seemingly
