Moritz always struck me as a a bit odd... he only signed a season's contract at Palace didn't he? then he did the same for us... seems he doesn't like to be tied down...

For a semi-permacrock that has only shown brief periods of his undoubted talent, I fear 3m is probably not far off the mark. I'd love for us to keep him fit and have him shine, but I fear we may never see it happen.

Providing we got the Juke in off the back of this then I wouldn't be too downbeat. Davies has never quite lived up to the player we all hoped he would become, yet still is undoubtedly one of our best players and one who can create chances.
We have plenty of centre-mids and not a goal-scoring striker.
I would be concerned, however, if we lost Chungy and Davies.

Don't worry - we have Liam Trotter who can play behind the striker. I suspect he was signed as a direct replacement for Davies.

Combined with the blistering, unbelievable pace of Feeney on one side and Creativity's Neil Danns on the other, we have an unstoppable midfield.

And Craig Davies Goal Machine up front.

Next season's going to be the best ever.

£3 million is a good deal for us for a player who has had a succession of injuries. We've had a good season and a half from him and made a profit. Sell, thank him for his services and buy a replacement. I just can't get sentimental over a player who won't manage a full season for us next year and may not play at all depending on whether his injury re-occurs.

It isn't a case of being sentimental - we've all seen enough players come and go to not really be bothered about that.

It's a case of being realistic about who we could get to replace him.

And with £3million, we could buy anybody. There'll be creative midfielders queuing up to join us. I'd hold out for that Messi chap. He looks OK.

Doesn't he play up front though? If Craig Davies is returning from his loan spell, I don't see the need to be signing yet more forwards.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Except we've spent most of the last few seasons with him in the stands or physio room, so his creativity isn't much use there, unless he's doing some nice drawings for the dressing room walls.
We've seen very little of his best and I don't see any signs of that changing. He'd also be mad not to want a Prem move at this point in a career that's looking like going nowhere.

I remember saying at the end of last season that i thought he had been rested so that he could be sold injury free this summer. Mavies has been great for us when he has played.................which isn't that often. With perhaps 50 games to play next season, we need a squad of players that are fit and can pull their weight. Sadly, Mavies doesn't and won't ever fit that bill I suspect. If you can turn a profit on a player that can't stay fit, its a good deal, whichever way you look at it.

£3mil is a joke, He's contracted to 2017 and we turned down £6mil from swansea.

Bit more to it than that.

I don't think he's worth 3M right now. Frankly I'd be surprised if a premiership team wanted him. Needs to re-establish himself this season. And be properly fit for a decent period. Hasn't he been told by Freedman to get himself fit over the summer? Think he needs to sort his diet out for a start.......

Maybe we should have taken the 6m then. I think there is some rose tinting going on with the lad. How long has he been with us? How many games has he been fit? How many of those games has he performed like a 6m player? If you're honest it doesn't add up to 6m, particularly for a lower mid Championship side.

It's not me doing the valuation of the lad, The club values him at £10mil

I think at his best it's possible. But his best has been quite fleeting so it would be hard to justify that number. Danger for him is that he is just another half promising youngster that let's his career slip him by....

Absolutely. He has loads of potential, but he's hit an age that clubs don't pay a premium for potential. For me he is at an age where clubs pay for a track record, which he hasn't enough of for 6/10m.
