On Sterling, there's a lot of cack and hearsay ("he's got 12 kids by 32 different women!") but I did hear from a decent source that Robbie Fowler advised Liverpool not to improve RS's wages, pointing out that he had been there himself as a young player on a lot of money and it affected his game. Liverpool upped Sterling's wage, Sterling went badly off the boil...
Yep. I can't for the life of me understand why a sports journalist would spend his days answering the same inane questions on twitter over and over again. Each to their own but he clearly loves being asked.

At the same time, as unfortunate as it may seem he does seem to be the best connected journalist for the likes of Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan out there.

Not by me he doesn't. The miserable feck* ignored my Follow request and then blocked me when I tried again! So he's an arsehole whether he gets things right or not. Hell hath no fury like a Twitterer scorned.

I don't know - you'd have to ask the person who said there was an extended list that he'd got wrong...

Is this extended list in Phil Gartside's pocket?

Forgive me, I was assuming that if you knew what BWFCI would say. You'd also know this list. Nevermind 8)

Nixon may be a bit trigger happy and a little too eager to reach for the twitter but all he does is put out the bait, it's all those eager enough to take the bait that are mostly to blame (not including anyone on this forum...I hope...)

Anyway 90% of all transfer rumors, no matter the source, at this time of the season end up being bollocks. I for one would probably prefer such to be that related to BWFC and our other northern brothers than read rehashed articles about Cavani/Suarez/Ronaldo and such like.

In summary; he's better than most and as far as a transfer rumor thread, he certainly plays his part.

i think you've got me mixed up with LK - LK said there was such a list... Alan Nixon is one of the many things that BWFCi and I have generally always agreed on... I don't believe I have ever slagged Alan Nixon - not seriously, anyway...

No, i did mean you, but for some reason i thought you always knocked what Nixon was spouting, for that i apologize. (i don't give them out lightly  )

I just happen to agree with him (BWFCI), I know 99% of the time he talks bollocks

So come on LK, let's hear this list.

I don't think not naming him is being vague. It's because primarily he'll want the story in the paper first but presumably he also doesn't want to piss of his source by giving the information away too early and scuppering any potential deal.

He wrote about Beckord and Hall weeks, and weeks ago and neither of those are as yet officially Bolton players. I'd hardly say thats vague.

It's just the nature of transfers, taking their time and sometimes breaking down late on.

Anyone who thinks he hasn't got a reliable and seemingly constant source at Bolton feeding him accurate stories must be completely deluded. I don't think the BN have beaten him to a story yet. Clearly the club have their prorities in who they give the information out to, for whatever reason that may be. But it certainly is clear as day.
Anyway, haven't you spent the last three years citing the fact that Nixon is Coyles mate as a reason to prove that his drunken ramblings are true?
But Coyle isn't at Bolton any more (on account of him being a cancer iirc) so how come Nico is still magically delivering the goods?
I know it's the norm for you to ignore a question when the answer is out of your reach like but is there any chance you could have a crack at this one only I've been holding my breath in expectation and everything is getting all floaty and dizzy. I mean I've been starved of Oxygen for so long I'm probably legally now an Arsenal fan.

Well there goes another 2 pages of this thread, all down to His Nixonness and his precise inprecision.

I had higher expectations of this post LK.

I'd probably crash the server if I listed all the players Nixon has linked with us over the last few years.

Cows arse. Banjo. Etc.
