It was supposed to be more entertaining and yet it has proved massively less so.Puskas wrote:Probably for the best if we don't.TANGODANCER wrote:Will we have anybody left when the season starts?malcd1 wrote:Baptiste to Blackburn is a possibility according to Nixon. Where are my car keys?
Can then shut down the football club and sell the Macron for luxury flats.
Let's face it, football died as any sort of worthwhile spectator sport when they invented the premier league.
Us pretending to be interested these days is just providing the electricity that keeps the corpse twitching.

Please tell me how you measure 'maximising them'. It is the woolliest phrase in the whole history of the English language. Please stop.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't care who is maximising them, that won't change it!

I agree. My point was that we can have the greatest manager available and he won't be able to get us promoted if Davies and Beckford are our best striking options.Bruce Rioja wrote:Please tell me how you measure 'maximising them'. Burnley paper reporting Sordell to move for initially £600,000 that's a loss of £2.6 million on his fee alone never mind the high wages he is on. Thanks Owen !!!

Does anyone know if we paid all of that fee? I'd like to think some of it was performance-related. Maybe I'm clutching at straws.Riviman wrote:http://www.pendletoday.co.uk/sport/burn ... -1-6692826

I thought we'd have to give the lad away. Not bad in the circumstances.

Yep, up there with the Robbie Savage school of geography.LeverEnd wrote:And at least he won't be homesick any more, poor lamb.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I thought we'd have to give the lad away. Not bad in the circumstances.
Just need to ban his constant and destructive use of twitter etc. and he has a quarter of a chance.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I for one will be very interested to see how he does now the pressures off. He'll probably go down in the long line of "squad beefers" that newly promoted clubs splurge on.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

According to the BN he scored 8 goals from 16 starts and 13 sub appearances. 8 in 29 isn't bad! He was decent for Watford and he's played a few times for England U-whatever so there must be reasons other than the ability to put the pigskin in the onion sack.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Sordell is worth a lot more than £600k. He's better than Beckford, who we paid a lot more than that for, and he's only 23. They're different types of players, and I think they'd work well together, but if Sordell going out is to bring Jutkiewicz in, I don't think it's a good deal. Sordell has more potential than Jutkiewicz and with the quality we've got in midfield, the priority should be finding a goalscorer.

Yep. I reckon Trotter is going to make all the difference to getting something other than a tweet out of Sordell.

is there any evidence at all the sordell wants to play for us?
recently your master plan seems to be - sordell, Cravies and Ngog... or did I miss something?

Is there any evidence that Sordell is anything more than a terrible terrible mistake who we will be lucky to recoup any sort of fee for?thebish wrote:SmokinFrazier wrote:Sordell is worth a lot more than £600k. And he's worth whatever the market says he is worth.
