I like this the Freudian version!Bruce Rioja wrote:Just found this on the 6 second incident.
Shearer? Clatteburg? A double-act of c*nts!
The last time I saw the sex second rule implemented was when Alan Shearer spent ten seconds committing obstruction against Jussi Jaaskelainen's run for ten seconds, before mark Clattenburg - the biggest starfucker in football - gave the free kick to Newcastle, and the winning goal came.
That was the one and only time I've seen it done. Every other time I've known people moaning about goalkeepers keeping hold of the ball too long, they've always added the time on to the end of the game.

Yes, Brum's Roger Taylor? Robbie blake scored a peach of a free kick to equalise. I can't think of any other single thing that he ever did for us.Bruno3 wrote:Didn't Jussi also get sent off for slapping someone (Birmingham player I think)? The word "slapping" greatly exaggerates the force used.

He did - To that shithouse they got from Wolves... The game where that fat lad from Burnley scored a late free-kick to equalise (maybe even win). Think we were 2-0 down at one pointBruno3 wrote:Didn't Jussi also get sent off for slapping someone (Birmingham player I think)? The word "slapping" greatly exaggerates the force used.

Well, Lennon said we needed another, so I'm assuming that means Fitzsimmons isn't ready yet to be number 2. I'm not saying we get Buffon in, just someone that can cover the inevitable injury and a suspension or two. It needn't be expensive.Prufrock wrote:I don't get this back-up keeper stuff. Presumably we don't reckon Fitzsimmons is so shit he couldn't do half a game if Amos got sent off? If so, save the wages and just loan one if he gets injured. Two would be nice but it seems a massive waste of cash-monies. I'd rather have a proper right back than a second keeper.

Quick 10-second dive into Clattenburg's wiki:
Clattenburg became a FIFA referee in 2006, at the age of 30, two years after turning professional.[11] He refereed Alan Shearer's testimonial match on 11 May 2006; he is a Newcastle United fan,[12] and therefore does not referee competitive games involving Newcastle.[2]
So there's that.

He did, and as noted Bo Hansen went in nets. Couldn't stop us losing but for a while thereafter his 50% save rate was better than rags keeper Fabien Barthez's.Bruce Rioja wrote:Didn't Jusski once get sent off against Newcastle and we'd no 2nd keeper?

You can leaf through the BW-NU match history (inc that 0-4) here:

Speedo got booked for them in that 0-4.

Aye, one of whom was a loan. That's what I don't get. If one gets injured just borrow one. Surely we're crying out for players in other positions before we're that arsed about our sub keeper!Bruce Rioja wrote:And bear in mind that, including young Benjamin, last season we needed three.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Well, Lennon said we needed another, so I'm assuming that means Fitzsimmons isn't ready yet to be number 2. Sommer would do, as long as he could have someone to kick for him.

I take your point. However, can we invoke the 'specialist position' loan thing if we have no recognised cover? Might the authorities insist on us playing Fitzimmons instead?Prufrock wrote: Aye, one of whom was a loan. That's what I don't get. If one gets injured just borrow one. It isn't really Bolton news but it sort of might help us feel every so minutely better about our situation.
Freedman signed Ben Hamer a keeper on loan from Leicester for the season last week. He's been recalled by Leicester today though apparently over "technical issues" with the deal, believed to be that Forest haven't paid the loan fee yet, presumably because of their perilous financial fair play situation with them under embargo.
Not really a comfort, but just showing we're not the only ones here in a mess.

15 isn't a great tally in this league. I'd back Clough to get at least that this season and Madine to get at least 12.danardif1 wrote:He scored 15 for Reading in the full season he had before moving to Cardiff (including that hattrick in the 7-1 against us...). that's big talk!! when was the last time we had two strikers that prolific!!Bijou Bob wrote:15 isn't a great tally in this league. 18 players got 15 goals last year. That's not "no-one" but it's fewer than one each so I'm not overly confident we'll have two! Only 7 of those 18 played for non-top 6 teams as well. I'd snatch your hand off for a 15 goal striker!thebish wrote:that's big talk!! when was the last time we had two strikers that prolific!!Bijou Bob wrote:15 isn't a great tally in this league. I think we have one Pru. If we can keep him fit. I'd put money on at least 21 between Clough and Madine. Granted, it's a long time since we had anyone that prolific and it's the other end where we're going to have issues.

Lot to expect of a 20 year old that! He's going to have to get used to a lot more attention than he's been used to up to now other than that Reading game. No doubt the talent is there, mind. And some.
