Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I think I saw him say he'd asked about Ladapo and received a fairly straight no. Maybe in the Exeter match liveblog, beforehand.
Haven't seen him even mention the Portugal lad, but I haven't been watching closely.

No "#bwfc" in the correction. Lovely stuff.
They also claimed it was a "done deal" just six days ago.

I think whatever the ins and outs of it, it's probably not going to do anything major to Saturday's starting XI, with 3.5 days to kick-off, unless we shunt in another spare keeper and put 'em on the bench.

Surely he won't be fit enough to play ?, if we had signed him he wouldn't play until November ! - or is that just Evatt ?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 2:42 pmBN reporting this has been done deal...Might score against us!Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 5:45 pmLadapo rumoured to be going to Huddersfield according to Mr O'Rourke.

Ladapo done deal will no doubt be on the bench Saturday!
I don’t doubt that he wasn’t a target. Whether he should have been is another question - but we do seem to be stocked in the forward line.

Ladapo to Huddersfield confirmed on BN. Done deal, just not for us.

Let's hope we get the player we actually want.

Well that's a monumental cock up and a half. Our recruitment really hasn't impressed me I'm afraid. I would say for the money we've had its been poor. And releasing players and leaving gaps in a squad you already have said is ideally smaller than you'd like is simply not good.malcd1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 7:45 amLooks like we lost our on that out of contract player we were hoping to sign.

He'd have been better just not saying anything. Keep it a secret. Now missing out on ambitious signings to teams who can out-spend us is "a monumental cock up and a half"

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
As I've just said to a mate, if we'd done nowt (bar release players) on D-day without saying anything, he'd have been burnt for that too - and on the day before the Exeter game ("a loanee sub might have changed things" etc)
End product is the same - just a different day for venting
Wonder who the player is? Aaron Connolly still seems to be unattached, so it may not be him
