Well all I got out of that was Tony Cascarino knows feck all about football and should be shot on site if ever near the Reebok!!! complete utter utter knob!

All these fecks who are knocking us now, rember the b*stards and mail them all gloating when we improve to mid table with no morbid dead weight tosspot called Megson at the helm! ffs I am getting to hate the smug t*ats who think he was a good gaffer, there really are some clowns involved in our game! thank God for an Italian national team boss.

They talk about this natural place in the football world as if we should just accept it and carry on :conf:

Sympathy will be thin on the ground if Bolton struggle to replace Megson, a hard-working manager who is popular within the game.

I defy you to speak to anyone involved with Leicester City or Nottingham Forest who has a good word for him. Opinion is split at West Bromwich Albion. I hope he gets the Sheffield Wednesday job - a marriage made in heaven.
Those people aren't really 'within' football though, they just watch it.

Right. I assume they mean that he's popular with other managers and chairmen. Which I assume is true, given that the longer he stayed in charge at Bolton, the more likely other managers would finish higher up the table.

Let's face it who ever gets the job MUST be backed by the fans from day 1 or we are doomed !!
While we are a perfect fit for Hughes, if he had jumped on board I would have thought it was one of the biggest shocks in football over the last decade. I am quite stunned that so many people seemed optimistic of him wanting to take over Bolton in the first place.
Daily Mail says he's ruled out, as has Coyler, and apparently so has Jewell...
Early yesterday afternoon there was a flurry of bets on Paul Jewell taking the job after the former Wigan and Derby manager was spotted by TV cameras at the Reebok on Tuesday night.

However, it emerged last night that Jewell was at the game as a guest of Megson and he was quick to rule out the possibility of replacing his friend.

Jewell said: ‘I find it embarrassing as I was at the Hull game with my son as a guest of Gary. There was no ulterior motive.

It's interesting that Reid's name isn't even in the Poll, and he's the favourite in most papers.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

For a start I'm astounded that such vitrol in posts is continued to be allowed by the mods.

Second, the people in the photo do look smug and happy with themselves, and I don't know or recognise any of them.

Third, how are these so called fans going to feel when we can't attract a good experienced manager because of the atmosphere that they have helped to create at Bolton and Gartside is forced to take a risk on another has been or a risky new boy like Ferguson and he takes us down. I guess that they will blame that on Megson as well.

No, it's got to get considerably worse than that. If anyone does go over the top we'll take action. Nothing has changed.

Also worth noting that Hobinho's ire is directed not at fellow posters but at The Media. As the man with the gun says, it's been worse.

But it's still not very pleasent to read with a lot of bad language and swear words, even if in "code", particularly as this site is available to the very young to read.

Damn straight. As if the Allardyce years were an act of God rather than astute management. Or as if a smaller team can never have a safe season *cough Fulham cough*.

Aye, this site may be available to the very young, but it's also available to the scottish, so we have to make it understandable to them too! It's about striking a balance.

Ok i am sorry just got to boiling point with everyone telling how good he was when we had the evidence of our own eyes before us.
Again I apologise its not usually me but this hurts a lot worse than being labelled a hoof ball team or bully boys.

Apology accepted, thanks mate. Having a strong view is acceptable, disagreeing is acceptable but in my view all the bad language and personal insults is unacceptable. I wouldn't like my young grandson who is an avid Bolton supporter reading some of the language and hate expressed on here.

It's a big man who can openly apologies, so well done.

IN THE KNOW ALERT

my mate got married last year and his dad in-law knows gartside, he was at the wedding and i briefly spoke to him (when completely p*ssed).

anyway he's txt me saying it is hughes we're after but not sure if we can land him. the main stumbling block at the moment is seeing how much him signing on as our manager would affect his settlement from citeh.

here's hoping.

It looks like you may get your wish with Reidy, but Coppell????? That would be scraping the barrel a bit.
