Thanks for that link. I think that's a good idea.BL3 wrote: Perhaps you should talk to the BWSA before you approach the club: http://www.thebwsa.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They should be able to give you more details about the ongoing discussions with the club.
As an aside, I've just had look on the BWSA website and read about the Nat Lofthouse Tribute Night and saw that Wynn Davies was there. He used to keep his car in my Aunty's garage! Does that give me any bragging rights?

Re: Nat Lofthouse statue
Not seen this elsewhere, sorry if I've missed the thread.
Six iconic images of Nat Lofthouse have been revealed by Bolton Wanderers - with fans encouraged to vote for their favourite.
The shortlist will be narrowed down to a final three using the supporter feedback, before Nat's family decide which picture will be used to for the statue that will be located outside the Reebok Stadium.
Club Chaplain Phil Mason, who is co-ordinating the memorial fund, said: "Each picture captures something of Nat's character and strength and speaks of his remarkable playing career, both for Bolton Wanderers and England.
"Over the next two weeks, everyone will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite picture of Nat, to help shape the iconic statue to be created for one of Bolton's great sons.
"The family and the club want the people of Bolton to really feel part of this project and to engage with the whole process, as they are helping to raise money towards the statue.
"I am sure everyone will have their favourite picture of Nat, and it would be great to have thousands of votes.
"Everyone who votes is being encouraged to make a donation to the fund to help towards completing this great tribute to a man who was Bolton through and through."
More than £20,000 has now been raised towards the Nat Lofthouse Memorial Fund.
Voting going on for the image to be used for Nat's statue,

It's not my all-time favourite Nat shot – that would be this – but I've gone for No.4 too.

I'm still at a loss why the club isn't paying for the statue?

Had to be 4 because of the cup, but it was close as I like 2.

No.4's the only one that works for a statue.

This.
Anyway, number 2 for me. Though I can see the attraction of getting the cup in there.
