As did O'Neill at Sunderland.

To be frank there is more chance of me flying up to the moon this afternoon than there is of a chequebook manager like O'Neill coming to manage Bolton at the moment. Probably a thousand times more chance.

You mean we can't have Pulis and his bessie? #devoed
I don't believe that Megson has two friends in this world, so I can't see him and Pulis. And I've not a f*cking clue what devoed means. I'm sure the kidz will get it though.

They are genuinely friends. Pulis has employed him as a coach several times.

Did you feel a twinge of jealousy when you found out?

No. But I did laugh when I read on one of them social media sites some of our fans asking for Pulis to be named manager. I reckon the bedsheets would be out in double quick time.

I don't think he'd be daft enough to bring the ginger stain back with him anyway. If he did come. But Gartside tends to stick with his man, so we'll see what the next month brings.

Agreed. I think they've brought him here to develop younger players and build the club back up. I think its going to take longer than any of us would like.

But I think he has the right qualities to sort the mess out and at least get us looking upwards again.

I think everyone should get behind him. Personally.

Well I think everyone should get the pitchforks and bedsheets out.

What difference at all will getting behind him achieve?

well - for one thing - if it's really tall people like AT - then dougie will be able to see again! (obv. if it's GG - then it doesn't matter if she's behind him or in front of him) - that's what BWFCi means, I'm sure of it!

Oh I think we're still fecked in many ways.

Financial Fair Play (if we seemingly carry on sticking to it) being one! And our owner seemingly having spent up being another.

Depends what your aspirations are. I'm beginning to think we could spend a fair while out of the top flight whatever we do. Which may be quite grim in some ways, depending upon your point of view.

Its a bit pointless arguing against a massive backtrack like this.

No backtracking at all. I've been saying since the end of last season that we needed a few more players, especially a centre half. People said on here to wait till the end of the window before worrying. Its the end of the window and we haven't strengthened or added a centre half.

My opinion has not shifted. Dougie is great. If we can't as a club afford what is required then such is life. We'll have to get on with it.

which ways are we fecked?

I'm not sure that a few seasons in the championship developing younger players and building the club back up = being fecked.

anyway - as i said - it is good news that you have now discerned the club's plan - you were distraught that it was impossible to know what the club's plan was a week ago!

So much for the complacency after the Blackpool game, eh? That mystifying team selection is beginning to look more and more costly...

F*cking brilliant.

And for your next trick? The sports science guys have actually discerned that whilst to the average punter it looked like we took a bit of a dicking last match, actually we were the better team, so alls well?
