Intrigued - can you explain a bit more here, Boz? Do you mean Medo and Spearing holding in a 4-2-3-1 or just one of them in something more like Allardyce's system? And have you any preference for the other players?boltonboris wrote:Personally Id like to see Medo/Spearing holding with Danns and Moritz in front, if we're to persist with a 5 man midfield.
At least there's more chance of us getting the ball to Beckford in more dangerous ares, rather than lobbing them into the channels

I mean just one of them.. Couldn't be arsed typing 'or' when I thought '/' would suffice.

EDIT: See Chirpy's comments above..
that's pretty much the shape I was after: So...
-----------Lonergan
Baptiste, Mills, Ream, McNaughton (full backs interchangeable but not during a match obvs)
----Medo OR Spearing (Pref: Medo)
Lee, Danns, Moritz, Eagles or Hall
--------One of any striker

Alright, cheers. Interesting... ye olde 4-1-4-1... tactics are cyclical... who'da thought Liverpool would play well with three at the back?
In truth, there's not much between your formation and the current one except more of a commitment to attack (it's basically Moritz in for Spearing). And commitment to attack is the real difference between 4-1-4-1, 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 4-2-4... it's not table football. I think the atmosphere and results might improve if DF's sides showed a bit more of that commitment to attack.
