Bit of a silly question really, as I don't personally know exactly what salaries or transfer fees that Freedman has agreed.thebish wrote:how much do you reckon he has wasted then?Peter Thompson wrote: By championship standards he's been backed sufficiently and spent (sorry wasted) enough cash either in transfer fee's and/or wages....
However, I would counter that of ALL of Freedman's signings I've yet to see any / one of them actually improve the team, in regards to making us either - more solid at the back, more solid in midfield, more creative in midfield, more mobile in midfield, pass the ball better or make us more potent in attack or have more chances on goal.
All in all after all the rubbish he spouts about possession football, playing from the back, bringing on youngsters etc - his team hoofs the ball as much as ever. The team play like 11 x individuals, like they are not coached and certainly never motivated or fired up.
Now you tell me what he has improved and tell me what money he hasn't wasted....

it really was a good match. Although we had possession it could have gone either way...

For me, it's a bit like Megson. He's made some decent signings, but has no clue as to what to do with them.
He's also signed some shoite.

i dunno!! I'm not claiming to know!! I think it's just a bit odd to proclaim that someone has wasted a load of money and then say have no idea at all how much money has been spent! my impression is still that he hasn't actually spent that much - an irrelevance, maybe - but there's plenty enough stick left to beat freedman with without claiming he's wasted tons of money!! your third paragraph, for instance - I agree - we can see that's true - the money, though - we don't really know, do we?Peter Thompson wrote:Bit of a silly question really, as I don't personally know exactly what salaries or transfer fees that Freedman has agreed.thebish wrote:how much do you reckon he has wasted then?Peter Thompson wrote: By championship standards he's been backed sufficiently and spent (sorry wasted) enough cash either in transfer fee's and/or wages....

(however - I do think feeney and danns have improved the team - and McNaughton - and Davies doesn't look bad this season...)

White was ok - certainly didn't look like he was out of his depth.

Re: “Make towards the pebbled shore"..The Brighton match thr
Brighton were the better team, but we could have had a point had we taken one of several half chances in the final 10 minutes (and Mason missed a sitter in the first half). Although Brighton had a lot of shots, a fair few were well wide or straight at the keeper(s). And Lonners probably should have saved the winner.
Dan & I have conferred on player ratings and have come up with -
Bogdan 5.5, Lonergan 4.5, White 5, Mills 7.5, Wheater 6, Ream 6, Spearing 4, Danns 5, Lee 6, Medo 5.5, Mason 5, C.Davies 6.5, Feeney 5, Trotter 5.
On a scale where 5-6 is "ok".

Well me and Tony D were under no illusions. Jay Spearing was joke today, the man is not fit to be captain he doesn't lead by example, White was equally poor. The only players who deserved the shirt today were Matt Mills and C Davies. Lonergan somehow proved worse than Bogdan in goal, Neil Danns has seemed to lost his spark and was almost non existent, Joe Mason hardly touched the ball. It was so bad that Trotter looked like one of our better players when he came on. In Essence as soon as Brighton equalised the match was lost.thebish wrote:bollox. yet another saturday afternoon pissed on...
it'd be marginally better if we didn't have the habit of going ahead in the first place, thus giving false hope...
Nonetheless a good day out and although I think we will lose on Tuesday and Saturday I am now looking forward to it.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I don't think the way Dougie used him helped, he had clearly been told just to hoof it down the line, to little affect and IMO his positioning was poor, he didn't know whether to press or to hold off, neither worked.TonyDomingos wrote:White was ok - certainly didn't look like he was out of his depth.

Somehow? He just has to get up in the morning to be worse than Bogdan in goal. He is worse than Bogdan in goal.bwfcdan94 wrote:Well me and Tony D were under no illusions. Re: “Make towards the pebbled shore"..The Brighton match thr
I expected us to lose; in all honesty, I expected a hammering. I listened on the radio and was encouraged in the first half by what sounded like a decent performance. But it's another defeat, which means more pressure the following week on getting that first win.
And we still haven't scored from open play all season.

My god Tim Ream.. Cost us 1 goal, could've cost us 3/4 more.
Mills was dreadful for the second goal, Lonergan even worse.
It's just fvckin' calamitous
