“We’re hoping to get him involved now in a couple of bounce games, or even a reserve game over the next week or 10 days,” the manager said.

“We’ve seen him train and he looks good but I’d be interested to see him on a bigger stage.”
I guess we'll have to wait a week or two until he's played those games..

b...b...b... I was expecting eidur after mi dinner!! :D

(not being familiar with the lingo - what are "bounce games"? I hope they're not on a big stage - someone might fall off, knowing our luck....)

I think it's when they use a rubber ball rather than a casey. Like is the school yard.

Eidur turned out in a Bolton shirt against Bury this afternoon and is scheduled to play again next week:

Lenin must really fancy him though. He's full of "I wouldn't be surprised if he signed for someone else now the cat's out of the bag" .... which sounds like "get him blooming signed" to me.

... & reports are that he met Garty about wages and there were no show stoppers.

Gutted we can't sign him before the game on Saturday. Expecting that he'll be there anyway and that will lift the crowd no end

TBH, I don't really see anything in the article that makes me think NL is close to wanting to sign Eidur. In fact, the "I wouldn't be surprised ..." quote reads as though he's actively encouraging other clubs to come in for Eidur in order to save himself the embarrassment of having to turn down a club "legend". Sorry, glass half empty for me on this.

its his agents job to increase the number of clubs wanting him

it reads to me that doggie is trying to manage expectation, especially with the talks with the chairman went well

He was man of the match in today's game and is now 'odds-on' to be offered a contract according to the Oracle.

So we're no nearer to knowing whether he'll sign than if he'd told us he had beans on toast for lunch then.
