Sounded more to me that the home side played well than us realy badly, and what makes you think Chungy couldn't be arsed, DJBlu? He might have been off the boil a bit but he sounded to be involved all over the place.

Any highlights knocking around anyone?

Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
Chungy was definitely arsed.
Also, we weren't that bad. Our full-backs got ran ragged by their wingers in the first half, but second half we managed the game better. Eidur should have put us 2 up, and Emile had a - allegedly - good goal disallowed. We're a team with a number of average players right now, this was a decent away performance if nothing to write home about.

Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
Huddersfield wanted it more than us today and the stats support that...24 shots with 8 on target. They seemed quicker to the ball and at their two wingers caused our back four real problems throughout the game. Having said that if Eidur buries his chance then it was game over. Real credit to our travelling support today with only Boro having a bigger away support (7k) today of any English team. It goes to show that if the feel good factor returns then we can pull the supporters back in to watch the team...COYWM!

Huddersfield fan here, and I wasn't at the game today. Live on Teesside and just couldn't make it, but a season ticket holder and at Rotherham the other day, so a regular so to speak. The posts on here seem spot on, from DATM match reports, Beeb stats and general consensus, well all apart from the ginger top himself.
What on earth is Lennon going on about? I can't tell from the football league show whether Heskey was offside or not, but there was little argument at the time, and most of our lot think he was, as they would of course. But the hand ball he's going on about, well I've watched that three times so far, the camera angle shows that side of his body, and all I can see is it hitting him on the thigh. Let alone the fact he thinks you controlled the game in the 2nd half, your goal was a world class strike, Butterfields presumably just a fluke.
Jeez Lennon you're a prat. I know all Managers have to big things up, but I do wish there were a few more like Mick McArthy, who generally tell things as they were.
Two not overly good teams, one of which wanted it more today as the stats seem to imply. Brilliant save from Smithies true, and if that had gone in, I'm sure our lots heads would have dropped as usual, but that's another story for another day. It certainly wasn't the story of today.

Well I doubt he had the chance to see it three times. Gotta call it as you see it.

Lennon is bothered about Bolton, not Huddersfield. If he has pissed you off its tough shit. You will play someone else next week and forget about us.ziggy15 wrote:Huddersfield fan here, and I wasn't at the game today. A defeat has been coming, the squad getting thinner and tired legs over Christmas.
Shame but the turnaround since he arrived has been amazing.

An accurate summation I think. A few fresh faces will do wonders I reckon, though Chungy will be a big loss next month.jaffka wrote:A defeat has been coming, the squad getting thinner and tired legs over Christmas.

Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
I think my wording was a little inaccurate. When Chungy isn't in the game we don't play well.
Ah well. It was due to end and hopefully we can dust ourselves off and get right back on the winning horse.

Saw it once from the stands and it looked a nailed-on handball to us.Vertigo wrote:Well I doubt he had the chance to see it three times. Gotta call it as you see it.
Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
Just seen the highlights. Heskey was offside from the very narrow view of things we're afforded by the camera lens, but it doesn't show us the position of the full back on the other side.
Trotter was the guy who gave the ball away for the second goal, and it wasn't handball. I was certain it was from the stands, but on second viewing it looks like it came off the lads knee.

Where the ref is positioned it looks like it hits his knee. The offside, we'll never know.
Trotter was at fault for both goals(more the 2nd than the 1st) it seems. Guilty of giving the ball away in key areas.
It was his first start under Lennon in the League. Will we see him start again?

Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
Probably we will. Had Lennon hooked him at half-time - which he should have done - I'd suggest we'll never see him ever again. But he persisted with him for 90 minutes which might be instructive. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets one more chance in the cup on Saturday.
Honestly, no idea why he's ahead of Spearing and Medo in Lennon's thoughts. Has to be training.

Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread
Not that they didn't play some neat football, but it seems quite a lot of their attacks came from ceaselessly pumping balls forward into out box (most of which they seemed to win) from just about anywhere and everywhere. The thing that struck me is when that happened our defence seemed to be always chasing the ace. Was this from our last line playing for the offsides a lot/too much? Our defenders are pretty decent, but, Ream apart, not the quickest and we seemed to get caught quite a bit?

Handball or not, it was criminal from Trotter.
