That is the most frightening thing. Look through the team. Who is likely to get close to double figures?Worthy4England wrote:Anyone in the team is allowed to score...realistically, unless they weigh in with a few we're stuffed regardless of who we have upfront. That said, Heskey upfront on his tod was always likely to end in nil.
None of the defenders unless Prince is a great header of the ball from corners. We shall see.
Vela? No. Mark Davies? No. Danns? No.
I'd put Pratley and Feeney in the maybe bracket. But verging towards unlikely.
Clough should. Madine?
After that it really looks a struggle for goals. And the problem is throughout not just up front.

Keep a clean sheet the week before against Derby... don't fcuk with that back 4. It's not difficult.

This is more or less it. Three at the back with a debutant in there just made a difficult job even harder.Prufrock wrote:Keep a clean sheet the week before against Derby... don't fcuk with that back 4. It's not difficult.

Danns grafts (well he runs around !), he creates nothing and gets caught in possession at least 3 times a game, and mainly when we are going forward which then puts us under pressure as we have players out of position, as the opposition counter quickly.BWFC_Insane wrote:
Exactly bobo. Danns and Feeney are limited but do jobs. Feeney has played well this season so far. He lacks end product but makes runs and has pace. We have nobody else to do that. Danns grafts. Limited yes but we don't have anyone else with Pratley out.
My view is that if we had 11 players willing to work like Danns and Feeney we'd be better off.
Feeney is a headless chicken, he has pace but no end product and he can't cross a ball and his head goes down very quickly.
Its all about opinions, and everyone is entitled to one but my view is that if we had 11 players like Danns & Feeney we would be relegated by Xmas - if we put them up for sale I doubt many (if any) other championship teams would be in for them, like I've said previously if we want to improve on last season we need better than both of them - however, if a repeat of last season is the target then they will just about do.

^^ we're in danger of violently agreeing with each other here PT. They aren't garbage, but we'll be getting nowhere if they play 25-30 games this season.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I've seen some pretty bold-in-its-patheticness play from various people who've turned out for BWFC in the last 20 years or so, but about 1:30 into those Boro highlights Neil Danns trys to win the ball....

Not disagree, I just mean if everyone had their attitudes. Are either good enough? Depends what for I guess. I think being realistic they are as good as any replacements Lennon is likely to be able to bring in.Peter Thompson wrote:Danns grafts (well he runs around !), he creates nothing and gets caught in possession at least 3 times a game, and mainly when we are going forward which then puts us under pressure as we have players out of position, as the opposition counter quickly.BWFC_Insane wrote:

...and if you watch the video from whence that still of Angry Amos is taken, he's bollocking the back three directly in front of him rather than Moxey watching on from wing-half.Prufrock wrote:That's a lot of effort (and exclamation marks) to say "Moxey switches off".plymouth wanderer wrote:http://mobile.newsnow.co.uk/A/787781972?-11201:838
Moxey scapegoat? You decide
I hope Lennon is a man of his word and drops 3-5-2 like a bad smell

Anyone is worth a moment of error but fck Moxey literally gave up .... and Danns powder puff "tackle" was outrageous. The one thing he offers is effort. Once that goes he really is pointless.officer_dibble wrote:Agree with that dsb; but moxey deserved a bollocking as well...and that attempt by danns to tacke as well...feck hell!

If Danns left us, he'd have to drop a division, as he wouldn't get anywhere near another championship side. That's worrying for me, that we've got some players in our team who aren't even Championship standardBWFC_Insane wrote:Not disagree, I just mean if everyone had their attitudes. Worrying but not surprising. We're probably paying wages equivalent to league one level in some cases.boltonboris wrote:

Lennon admits he wants to use 3-5-2 again:

“Can I get it (3-5-2) right? Of course. If it can work at Anfield, why can’t it work at other grounds?

Then he needs the correct players ... and the correct practice. Coz it's not worked since.Jugs wrote:Lennon admits he wants to use 3-5-2 again:

Shouldn't be too dogmatic about formations. Of course 3-5-2 can work. But you need the right blend for it to do so.
Using Liverpool game as an example though worries me as it basically was a rearguard back 5. And we defended very well but that won't translate across all that many games.
