And Sainsbury's are currently trying to buy HRG. A new supermarket to replace the North stand? :D

Hearing in Monday May be pushed back. That'd be handy!

Which is what I said a month ago, because it's what happened to Accrington.

But no, we'll definitely be in administration by mid-December.

Nixon says we will ask for more time to pay as we have little chance of raising the money by Monday.

Earlier in December I'm sure Iles said he had asked people within the club (and Birch) about a possible delay or adjournment and they felt the court was unlikely to grant one as things stood. So will be interesting to see whether that was true or if things have changed in our position since then.

It has to be slightly worrying that we're off to court saying we haven't got the readies. However, I have a sneaking feeling we are getting closer to investment and that could be a reasonable reason to ask for delay......or am I clutching at straws?

I think the whole of Bolton support is doing that right now on a wing and a prayer. If the eastern world weren't so busy taking up head office time, prayer might have a chance. I'm still hoping. ae:)

HMRC are an aggressive creditor. It is their petition. They have a bee in their bonnet about the football insolvency rules and their losing in the high court. The petition isn't just on the money owed, it's also about the lack of trust engendered by the club not paying the tax bill, and revolves around the likelihood that HMRC would be a major loser in an insolvency or voluntary pay agreement. So no, I don't think it will be anywhere as clear ut as Accrington's case was. We may well get a deferral but I wouldn't bank on it.

A bit of outrage at the Revenue from the local council might not go amiss here. You know, on the lines of wrecking a town's entertainment and all the jobs, careers at risk etc. Or are the council too busy dreaming up white elephants? Then again, perhaps not.

Given how much of a kicking local authorities are receiving at the moment, I'd be surprised if they had anyone spare high enough to make enough noise for said outrage. We did have a local MP or two get involved last month, and that was shot down by virtually everyone on the board :conf:
"virtually everyone on the board"... we really do need a hyperbole emoticon around the place.

We've come to not expect Transfers on the transfer thread. Goals/Wins on the match day thread. Is there actually any breaking news on the breaking news thread?

Some actual real news? OK, it's Lion of Vienna Suite and not everybody trusts it, but:
Breaking News: Bolton Wanderers Takeover Imminent?

The seemingly never-ending Bolton Wanderers takeover saga could be 48 hours from completion, according to our source who informed us about this.

Our source tells us that the Sports Shield consortium are in talks to complete the Share Purchase Agreement - a definitive agreement that finalises all terms and conditions related to the purchase and sale of the shares of a company.

They expect to complete a deal for the club over the weekend.

However, our source tells us that their proposed bid is being challenged by a rival bid from Dennis Rogers and Jonathan Disley, who they claim do not have the club's best interests at heart.

Our source told us:

"We have got the SPA in and hope to conclude over the weekend. However, Jon Disley and Dennis Rodgers are on the way to the club to gazump us.

"I can assure you this is far from the best interests of the club, and they don't have any hard cash behind them except what is being leveraged."

We will bring you updates on this story as soon as we receive them.
This may or may not be why Marc Iles tweeted this, 13 minutes later:
Somebody has just done somebody else no favours at all...
