It's like watching a dog on oilcloth.

In a season of unremitting shiteness, Sammi was our only hope of doing something remarkable that could lead to a goal. It felt like a long wait between such instances

Forest have such a scattergun approach to recruitment, management, etc. It's baffling. I'm reading Jonathan Wilson's book on Clough, Nobody Ever Says Thank You (bit long-winded, needs an editor, but that's Jonawils for you) and you wonder what Peter Taylor would have thought of their approach in recent years, amassing average players. Didn't they have like 50 contracted professionals at one point recently?

For instance, speaking of our old mates left in City Ground cupboards, I wonder if Zach Clough (or his dad) will be on the phone when we finally get a decision on manager. Reminder that he spent last year struggling with injury on loan at Rochdale (having spent the second half of the previous term back at ours). He still has two full seasons left on his Forest contract. He turns 25 in March.

Too many managers in a short space of time, each trying to sort the other one's shite out and, importantly, having the backing to do so. I expect the cycle will continue - O'Neill, whilst a cracking manager in his heyday, is very much yesterday's man.

Never gonna make it was he.

In other news Clayton Donaldson has the feck* cheek to moan about somehow managing to scab a contract as a professional footballer. If there’s ever a footballer who didn’t deserved his (championship) wages...

I thought he looked alright when playing wide on the right. In front of goal though, holy moly

Ozymandias has been on to say that he still doesn't know when they're supposed to be back in for pre-season training. Not only that, but so lacking in interest is he that he doesn't even know who we've got in the first round of the Rumbelows

So this was what the Club posted as "Contracted players" on 13th June.

Ben Alnwick (GK)
Jordan Boon (D)
Eddie Brown (F)
Luca Connell (MF)
Ronan Darcy (F)
Liam Edwards (D)
Connor Hall (F)
Jason Lowe (MF) - might still be injured for all we know
Josh Magennis (F)
Remi Matthews (GK)
Luke Murphy (MF)
Erhun Oztumer (MF)
Dennis Politic (MF)
Yoan Zouma (D)

Looks like we'll be going "three at the back" on the grounds we only have 3.

2 in nets though, which should help.

:-) Enough for a 5 in midfield, leaving one up front. Sorted.

Luca Connel now seems certain to join Celtic. Photo of him doing the rounds at the ground up there.

There goes our 5 in midfield - we're gonna have to play two up front. Parky will collapse.

I just want to make sure I’m playing, wherever I go. I’ve read in the media that lots of big clubs are interested but I think at this age it’s important to be playing. Then hopefully the money will come with that.

So what do we reckon?

Sold for a snip at 400k or a Madine type eye watering £4 million?

Presumably it's the administrators who decide how much is acceptable? They'll be looking for a more front loaded payment to satisfy creditors rather than an appearance/international caps based style fee?

Well, how long's left on his contract? I've read contrasting tales. One that we secured his future so he can't go for nuts, another that he only has a month to run. Then, presumably, he along with everyone else has an option to invalidate any contract if he hasn't been paid?

According to Daily Mail (I know - but it came up on Google) - we extended his "Academy Contract" - this also seems to be reflected on the BWFC site where it talks around us taking up the option on his scholarship contract...

The Fail reckons we'd be in for ~£250k

So now we'll be down to 13 players (two of whom are goalies).

I'm firing headlong into a solid 4 on that panicfannyometer that's knocking around :)

The link in DSBs post ^ via Iles suggests that they won't get him for as little as 250k. I suppose it's all a drop in the ocean whatever we get

He signed a new contract so it won't be for the 250K that's being punted about. I'd hope and expect 7 figures with multiple clauses!
