If it came down to it I actually think Randell would work better on the right now than he does on the left. So if things went to pot with recruiting a new RWB I'd not mind Conway and Schon for the left with JDC and Randell for the right.

Ideally we get Armstrong, who would radically improve us; but if not Randell is an option.
Another reason not to rush into loaning out Conway.

First goal yesterday shows some of the patterns that have been mentioned...

It's a balance though, mate. In Khumbeni's case, he would now need a squad space, so who do we deregister or not buy?

Conway wouldn't take a squad space - not until next season - but it's a fine judgement call on whether he's better served on our fringes or playing the majority of minutes somewhere else.

I like the idea of him coming on as sub - hell, I like us to rotate dem wingbacks and keep 'em fresh and fighting - but we've got a big squad now. Say for instance Schön settles well and Randell comes back. Would we really have Conway on the bench over Randell? Or, if Johnston returns, would Conway get a bib over Iredale – who may not be a brilliant wingback but covers two positions?
Ah - forgot about Khumbeni’s age. So yeah that’s probably not going to happen.

As for Conway - we could start off with him on the bench whilst RW gets fitness and then reassess.

Yeah. If we want him loaned to a League side – and I agree it's probably the best next step in his development - then we have until the end of the month to do so; we should know Randell's situation by then.

But as Ghost says, if no new RWB emerges (despite our clear intention to find one), Randy may be a righty rather than a lefty, which opens the door for Conway to play without using a squad space.

Randy's best ever season was playing as a right winger. It's a job he knows.

Like I say, it's best to get a top class lad in if we can; but if nothing else it adds emergency depth on that side in a crisis. Same with Armstrong being able to play on the left, if he were to show up.

Danny Armstrong, one of Kilmarnock's most important players and their most reliable big game man, is on the bench today vs Celtic.

Hope springs eternal.

Though if we were about to sign him you’d expect him to not be involved at all.

Yes especially after the club where apparently waiting for Kilmarnock to lose their Europa game on Thursday. Unless he's on the bench for an emergency (another winger/wing back getting injured etc.) whilst negotiations continue ?

I don’t think we can agree a fee.

Saying that, speaking to a lad north of the border just now the line is they "agreed" he wouldn't start. Whatever that means.

Some Killie fans are suggesting it's form related, but then they've slated all of their players recently.

*edit*

Killie coach when asked apparently said "Slight strain."

So, pick your poison.

Agreement? Poor form? Injury? Apply as desired.

Dion's goal. Two vertical passes on the ground – from two players who want the ball in tight circumstances - take us from 10yds off our D deep into oppo territory... and yer man does the rest.

The "absolutely finished" Aaron Morley there, turning off one touch and then taking thee players out of the game.

Great to see proper tackles going in as well.

We apparently used a B Team friendly to get minutes into legs today. The team was:

Southwood, Forrester, Forino, Johnston, Matheson, Morley, Khumbeni, Iredale, Bryan, Nlundulu and Charles.

What was the score? Did we win? Evatt out!
