Not quite, saying he doesn't know about it.... said similar about Wheater iircBWFC_Insane wrote:Mowbray denying any "bid received" for Williams, which is odd, when there clearly has been one. Its not a "not for sale message".

As an aside is Formica still with Rovers??
I'm sure Nixon said the financial situation there meant they'd have to sell one of Samba/Hoilett/Formica although I could be mistaken.
Get the feeling the Venkys would like the idea of a late bid on Hoilett if he can leave for free in the summer as it is.
Edit: Just seen on SSN that Leeds are 'bracing themselves' for late bids for Snodgrass. Hmm...

Snoddy is a tippy tappy winger with an eye for goal!
How do you brace yourself for a bid?

Formica has practically been dragged to South America to sign for anybody who will take him by this Venky's (brasil) chap, who for some reason, despite working for a chicken farming company in an entirely different continent is one of the top boys at Blackburn Rovers...

SSN bloke in NE says Bolton went back in for more chats but Boro wouldn't sell Rhys Williams for £10m. So no.

Ha, both him and Zaha will go for much less when Boro and Palace respectively fail to secure promotion.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:SSN bloke in NE says Bolton went back in for more chats but Boro wouldn't sell Rhys Williams for £10m. So no.

can't blame them for trying!! why - some clubs try to flog centre backs for £17mill and then have to accept a little bit less when push comes to shove!jmjhb wrote:Ha, both him and Zaha will go for much less when Boro and Palace respectively fail to secure promotion.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:SSN bloke in NE says Bolton went back in for more chats but Boro wouldn't sell Rhys Williams for £10m. Very disappointed with this transfer window, lost our star player and replaced them with an average unproven defender and signed a young guy on loan.

you COULD argue that our form has taken a definite UPWARD turn since we did that.... no?

Well that started before he left against Everton, I'd put it down to the return of Sam Ricketts.thebish wrote:adamworthy2002 wrote:Very disappointed with this transfer window, lost our star player and replaced them with an average unproven defender and signed a young guy on loan.

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
I don't really have opinions about most of the targets we are linked with so largely stay out of the thread. I am surprised at some of the gloom, however. So we lost Cahill who was a star player, not the star player. He was also the pivot in the leakiest defense in the premiership. IMHO Knight plays better without Cahill around. I'm encouraged by the returning injured. Ricketts already back, with CYL, Holden and Mears round the corner - then of course there's Sean Davis (oh right). With the young Japanese loan we seem to have an abundance of midfielders (though perhaps a tad short on defensive ones). Even Petrov (I'm not a fan) has been playing better. So long as we go 4-5-1, 4-3-3 we don't seem to be that short. Frankly I though we were unlucky to lose some games before Christmas, and these things even out. The team has been playing well (even at home lately) so I don't see why we should be so pessimistic. I'd far rather be us than Rovers, Wigan and Wolves atm. Just my two cents.
