Apparently it is still the plan to force Anderson and Holdsworth out and to take control of the club. I'm assured that they're all (the steering group that is) working like Billy-Oh behind the scenes, but to what end I've no idea.
I was also in that boat, but decided to get out before Hoboh mistook us for some Albanian types :) Seriously though, I figured I'd handover the tenner after much deliberation as I believe in the concept, if not the execution of it in this instance. Elections are due to take place soon and it should become clear the direction being taken. I think the priority is to put the trust in a position to step in Portsmouth style should it be needed. I think Deano's heart is in the right place but don't trust Anderson whatsoever. Unless we offload Amos, Pratley and co soonish I think we're headed for the courts again.

As to the cash. Based on the membership numbers mentioned at various times we're looking at less than 50k. Factor in banking/paypal costs, some admin and legal costs, I can't see anyone getting rich out of it. The sensible thing would be to build up a fighting fund over time so they can act quickly if/when the need arises. I'm lucky that a spending a tenner on the trust makes no difference to me, but their words and actions over the next 12 months will determine whether they get any more out of me. I have my doubts, but feel I need to give them a chance.

BN reporting that, with the final interview today, "just one candidate remains". I assume that's one from the first three interviewed. However, Anderson's son [working on player recruitment] is quoted as saying the one is neither Evans nor Stubbs. He also says about the appointment, "We're pretty much there, everything should be completed by the end of the week, and we believe things will start to happen quite quickly once we have made this appointment."

I won't be holding my breath.

Anyway, the manager: In a piece which went on the BN website this morning but was clearly written a while ago (it says Steve Evans is still employed), we have a new voice and yet another promise/threat of imminence:
"Steve Evans is not of interest, there has been no approach from either party at any stage," revealed Ken Anderson's son Lee, currently working at the club in a player recruitment role. "Alan Stubbs is obviously a good manager and an ex-Bolton player but he is not being considered for the position either.

"We're pretty much there, everything should be completed by the end of the week, and we believe things will start to happen quite quickly once we have made this appointment."

"This is a vital decision for the club and a choice we want to get right," added Anderson. "We showed potential managers our infrastructure and made it clear where we want to take the club. There is a lot to consider and we have gone through a number of potential managers. We have to get a feel for them and then go away and think hard about what is the best move for the club."
There's also a claim that there's only one more candidate, who is a closely guarded secret, plus some stuff about Brian McDermott. All very odd as Anderson Minor appears to be contradicting his dad...

EDIT Beat me to it, Tony!

So that is what, timescale number 4 for a new manager?

One last chance for me for them to show that not everything they say is total BS. Got till close of play Friday.....

Though I did include the main point: 48 hours until the new manager is revealed!

Also, without Friday, there'd be a big gap between Thursday and Saturday.

And the Romans wouldn't have had a day to crucify Jesus, which might have affected that particular narrative a bit.

I wonder how long that interview process took.

Their timescale not mine...

If you want to be pedantic, close of play Saturday, but we all know BWFC don't work Saturdays, or at least they didn't last season.

No-one has ever said "should be done by the end of the week" and ended up finishing it on Monday/Tuesday? Getting things completed and unveiling a new manager at a press conference/PSG are probably not the same thing either.

I'd rather they take their time and get the right manager than rush it through.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
